Shebang is fed up of stale, rehashed trends and uninspiring music.
Originally a music-based fanzine, Shebang focuses on lesser-known artists as well as those currently courting the limelight, isn't elitist when it comes to fame, gender or labels, and aims to spark the readers interest and encourage creativity. We stick to the zine ethics adopted by the Riot Grrrl movement and the do-it-yourself ethos that so many modern magazines discard in favour of a glossy, generic look.
A recent revamp has seen Shebang branching out from its musical roots & featuring more artwork, fashion features, crafts, travel guides and any interesting fancies that catch our eye! This page is also due a serious makeover, so keep popping by to say hello!
The new issue (issue #2) will be professionally printed & available for distribution... so watch this space foxface! Due out June '08, all submissions MUST be in by the end of April '08.
A sneaky peek at a few of the people that have helped us out with the new issue...
Emmy the Great, Dorian from The Teenagers, Black Lips, Sue from Robots in Disguise, Amandah from Operator Please, Marcella from the Puppini Sisters, Ben at Kill Rock Stars, ladyhawke, D U R R R, Yo Majesty, Kid Harpoon, Young & Lost Club, Jeremy Warmsley, Cut Off Your Hands, Cassie & The Cassettes PLUS interviews with Poppy & The Jezebels, Charlotte from the Subways and Peggy Sue & The Pirates!
