Obviously Odium means a couple of things... most people mistake it as a synonym
for hate but this is not always the case. It can mean enduring hate for something
shitty you caused and there are two directions this can take you...
1) It can pull you down into a subhuman form that is not naturally you. you
swirl, dwindle and die.
2) It can lift you up to a perch you've never sat ... Reliving past endeavors can make a person learn and evolve into a better person spiritually and mentally.
Of course life is a constant flow of these experiences and one must decide between the two.
Odium is enduring, enduring is existing... we just fuck up a lot.
People ask to describe the sound... the style or "genre" of Odium. We have no clue as it seems our individual influences are all over the radar. Take Frank Zappa and put him the same room with Mike Patton, Neal Pert and Les Claypool and you might have Odium... or a fist fight. Passionate, educated and deliberate every step of the way.
Odium is Eric Mesenbrink on guitars, John Mesenbrink on bass, Jay Corigliano on drums and Jim Corigliano on vocals. The chemistry comes from blood and longevity. We are veteran musicians with tours and other dubious crap under our belts. We have all have played for huge crowds, we have recorded many albums of original music, and have played along side some of the best in the business. What does this mean? Nothing. Absolutely nothing. We love to perform music. Maybe some one will pay us for it. Blah.
If you are reading this, then we whole heartedly thank you for accepting our invite. We do not use applications and we do not spam our friends (you might get a show invite). We actually read your profiles before we invite you.
We perform music. It's what we do and the best is yet to come.
~ Odium
And now a word from our management team:
Promoters, bands and such: While we welcome the opportunity to play a wide variety of shows with talent from across the globe, there are certain guidelines we make Odium follow. Odium has one of the largest stage shows in the central time zone which means that every show is an event and takes quite a bit of planning. We will not consider Odium for opening slots in their hometown unless it is a serious national act or a charity event.
Feel free to email the fellas through myspace but for consideration to secure an opening slot on the local shows, please email [email protected]. Please include a link to your work (EPK preferrably) and the date you are interested in. We will contact you if you are the right fit.
For out of Iowa bands wishing to show swaps, please email management with a date that you want to bring Odium to your town. Once the return show has been verified and booked, we will then work to get you a sweet spot on Odium's next Des Moines show.
Any and all inquiries need to be sent to [email protected]. Thanks!
