Toys on The Stairs are 2 Hip Hop DJs Howard Parsons and David Taylor; we write and produce as 2 pseudonyms Halfman and Joe's Ditty. Howie's background lies in Old School Hip Hop. He was a staple of the early B Boy scene in Brighton DJ'ing at top spots alongside long term friend Mex (BlackGrass). He has had previous material released on independent label Puma Strut and contributed to the infamous 'Ultimate Cakes and Sweets' 12". My background is in Drum and Bass in the Midlands where I grew up. I won a DJ competition aged 16 and quickly secured residencies at nights in the local scene and on internet radio. I later got into promoting my own events and DJ'd in Hip Hop band 'AFM' and later on a Rock band 'Porno Hotdog' whilst studying a BTEC in music. I then moved down to the South Coast and went on to do a BA Hons in Music Production. I Dj'd at local spots, student nights and promoted some DnB gigs before growing out of the DnB scene and progressing into producing Down Tempo beats.We want to use Myspace to promote, network and collaborate so please get in touch if you like what we do.
