BACK ON TRACK
PV and The Heartbeats exist since 1999. Since than they have been active on many festivals, bandstands, parties and pubs, both national as well as international. Their style has changed through the years but has always been rooted heavily into the roots of the fifties and early sixties rock and roll.
In May 2005 the band had to stop performing because of health problems, but we have achieved full war strength again and we're ready to rock and roll again!
PV and The Heartbeats are:
Peter (PV) de Vaan: vocals/guitar/piano
Eric van Houtum - bassgitaar
Bart Baudoin- lead guitar/vocals
Rob Luvius - drums/vocals/lapsteel
Vocals/rythm guitar/piano: PV
Frontman Peter de Vaan started to earn his ducktail at the age of twelve as a roady with Big Jeff and The Hurricane Rollers and later on with Savage Kalman and The Explosion Rockets. When Savage Kalman had to stop singing because of health problems, their lead guitarist, the legendary Bart Strik formed The Explosion Rockets II, and asked PV to be their new singer/rhythm guitarist.That's what he still does to the present day, but now with his own band: PV and The Heartbeats.
Bass guitar & cigars: Uncle B
Bass player Eric van Houtum is abusing his bass guitar as long as he can remember and played previously with PV in the earlie eighties in bands like "The Rockin' Flag". As of 1999 Eric plays the electric bass in PV and The Heartbeats.
Drums and backings: Rob "Babyface" Luvius
Rob "babyface" Luvius has been beating the skins for over 21 years with dutch legendary rockabillies Billy Wiggle & The Wigglers. With them he recorded numerous tracks in the wax at Mac Bouvrie's MAC studio's. Rob also plays the Lapsteel guitar and he knows how to spoon a washingboard as well! Rob is a showman pur sang and one of the best R&R drummers on the scene nowadays.
Lead guitar and backings: Bart Bullet
Bart Baudoin is PV's Telepicker, and this virtuoso has been inspired by the likes of Danny Gatton, Albert Lee and James Burton. Bart has a long history in the Dutch music scene and has the skills and the experience to make an imprint on the band's own style.
