SKA
Influences:Influences include the BEAT, the Specials, Desmond Dekker, Laurel Aitken, Skatalites, Bob Marley, Police, Fishbone, Pogues, Camper Van Bethoven and Oingo (Elfman) Boingo!Bands we shared stages with that we consider Brothers in Ska: Deals Gone Bad, Mustard Plug, Johnny Socko, Toasters, Umbrella Bed, Highball Holiday, Ruder Than You, Lets Go Bowling, Skankin' Pickle, Bim Skala Bim, Hepcat, Pietasters, Scofflaws, Go Jimmy Go, Something to Do and Reaching Skarlet to name a few. (sorry if we missed anyone here!)Bands we've had the honor to share stages with: Skatalites, Bad Manners, Selecter, Special Beat, Dave Wakeling and the BEAT, the Wailers, Mighty Mighty Bosstones, The Suicide Machines, Less Than Jake, Fishbone, Reel Big Fish, Buck-O-Nine, Mephiskapheles, Voodoo Glow Skulls, MU330 and No Doubt. Kudos to all the other local and reginal bands we've shared music and laughs with over the years, over miles and miles of roads and countless clubs. You are too many to list here!
Sounds Like: Brewtown Ska was initially 3rd wave, influenced by 2nd wave Ska (Specials, Beat, Selector, Bad Manners, Madness), Oingo Boingo, Fishbone, the Toasters, the Untouchables and perhaps some Police too! We've been in it a while now and since have experienced much in our exploits. I'm sure those gained influences have shown in our recent material.
