About Me

"Angel and Sue live in Providence, RI, and NYC, respectively; the two old friends are both Southern wildflowers long ago potted in Yankee soil. Back when they were both East Villagers in Manhattan, they played together in Last Roundup. Their voices blend beautifully on these tunes: soulful, exuberant, dreamy, and wise. The power of the songs is exquisitely realized in arrangements which feature the gals' own playing and contributions by several good friends. Though some of these numbers may become standards, you'll never forget where you heard them first. To make these recordings, Angel had to leave husband-and-lyricist JT at home with the dogs and hit I-95 for sessions at Sue's studio in Brooklyn. Hopefully they'll log many more miles making lovely sounds, but in the meantime, enjoy." - Chris Nelson of The Scene Is Now
Our new songs (14 in all) were recorded and mixed at Mule Yard, Brooklyn, NY. Produced by JD Foster and Sue Garner; all songs co-written by Angel Dean, Sue Garner, and Jonathan Thomas. The four tunes here on MySpace are all new (unreleased). Hope you like them. Let us know what you think! Post a comment if you can. xox - Sue & Angel

Sounds Like: "Garner and Dean are 2 of the most beloved voices of New York's long postpunk era."

"These 2 ladies have 2 of my favorite voices and to hear them in a blend is astounding. Angel's voice is voluptuous, wise, all-knowing with a sass; Sue' smoky, smooth and the type of soothe that fills in the cracks of splintered, stressful living, kisses it and makes it all better. And, dammit, they both have that southern twang like a comma on a retort that makes me happy."
