HEY, WE'RE THE MOBSMEN!!!So the rumours about those lurking Norwegians turned out to be true. There IS actually a bunch of guys who are crazy enough to play the swinging surf-sounds that were so familiar on the Southern Californian ballrooms in 1963.With crashing drums, thumping bass-sounds and reverb-drowned guitars the ever-growing band of the Mobsmen find their way in the shady streets of Oslo. Their first ever rehearsal took place in january 2005, and they have since proved that surf-music has a place in the Tiger City nightlife with several shows around the Norwegian capitol.-Bjarte, the bass-player also plays rhythm guitar in Peter Berry and the Shake Set, and he is a diehard fan of the British beat-scene. He will be no stranger to admit that the fab-four is one of the biggest explosions that took place in his life. However, lately he has come to admit that even the lazy beach bums from the US made some groovy sounds in the early sixties. His last major discovery is the Gary Usher-produced biker-heroes the Hondells.-Thomas, the drummer also used to play with the Indikation, and is a veteran in the swinging sixties scene. He can tell you everything that is worth knowing about the hippest attitudes and the grooviest clubs all over Europe. Thomas rides a Vespa and also plays sitar for the sake of relaxation. Thomas has a straigh-forward attitude, and won't hesitate for a second if there are kooks working in the music clubs trying to boringize the Mob-sound with modern PA-equipment or new digital media funky EQZ microphones on the hi-hat.-Simen, the guitarplayer only plays with the Mobsmen. Before he used to play with the Sea Lions when he lived in the Netherlands. The only way of plating the guitar that he knows is the Dick Dale way, and he will give you a very strange look even if you think about requesting campfire schlger-songs that have nothing to do with reverbed guitars. Simen also tries to speak as much Dutch as possible, even though he's very far from fluent.
