Would I could cast a sail on the water

About Me

The moongazing hare lives with David Folkmann Drost, who is still caught in the wooden jaws of Les Gueules de Bois (that old heartshaped fox). He sleeps not in a bed, but in a field of mosquitoes and stars.I am a badger and a magpie, but no good musician. I don't mind much and I record the sounds of whatever is at hand; most notably guitar, banjo, bows, bowls, bells and whistles. I also sing and it gives me a lot of joy. Or sometimes gets me upset.I intend to use this space as a creative outlet that goes beyond my own four walls and will try to add writing and drawings in time. I hope some things will be of some interest to some people and I would be delighted to hear from anyone who might feel an affinity to what I am doing. I am also always looking for creative playmates and collaborateurs of every kind. I am a cut worm and I forgive the plough. I do drink tea.

Sally Free and Easy (video)

This time Hiro got out of the shower to sing with me. Once again the singing was cut short due to camera restraints (or camera-handler ineptitude). Sally Free and Easy is one of my favourite ...

Fruit, zoomorphism and time on hand

Recording has been going fairly slow for quite awhile, but I have been playing my guitar a lot and am even beginning to pick up some early vestiges of what I hope might be skill. The greatest challeng...

While Hiro was in the shower

...this is what I did: I filmed myself playing a hamfisted cover of "I am still here" by Damien Jurado. The camera only takes three minutes at a time, so you will be spared the rather upsetting (but h...

There is a land

Dear anyone,Many things have happened and are happening which I have not mentioned in this space and mostly they are all about moving and about being in love, which is really the beginning of all fits...

Pieces of mind

At some point while rapturously feeding the fire of my heart, I think I may have lost my mind, or accidentally fed it to the flames in a moment of gleeful abandon. So what do I do, now that I've met s...

"What would you say to feeble humans who'd try to make you enjoy life or so...?"

What indeed!? I shouldn't poke fun. Certainly not at people who are so clearly feeling a lot more uncomfortable in the world than I do myself at the moment. I also shouldn't deny that I used to LOVE ...

Release your prisoners, mirror Moon!

It seems that I've found a satisfactory solution to the technical difficulties, and I have uploaded some new songs. Problems go away. Go away! They were recorded on Fanø with Hugh and will most likel...

Technical difficulties

The recordings for the upcoming record are exceeding my expectations. They are stumbling, stuttering, childlike and hamfisted, but with Hughs invaluable aid and the push of a belligerent full moon I t...
