Ten Foot Tall is a 4-piece alternative/metal/rock band from Hobart, Tasmania. Starting out in 2003 as a pop/rock band, (who would have thought) we soon realised that this style just didn't work for us. After loosing a drummer and wasting a lot of money on an average EP, there was a lot of soul searching done. Should we go on or just call it a day? We chose to continue but in a different direction. So in 2006 with a new drummer, we worked out what each of us did best and what we brought to the band. We all like the more technical aspects of metal and love the strong melody of rock and alternative, that's how we ended up with a fusion of the three styles. The response to our style change has been overwhelming, there's such a positive buzz about our music, with interest from right around the globe. We're currently working on our debut album which will be out sometime next year.
Ten Foot Tall has appeared at various festivals around Australia such as AGMF (Toowoomba, Qld), Sonfest (Boonah, Qld) and The Factory Festival (Launceston, Tas). We've played at different pubs and clubs around Tasmania, and make regular appearances at youth events such as Reload, Underground and Revolution.
