CHI-ROH is an energetic HOBART 4-piece gaining momentum around the traps in Tassie. You will realise once you see Chi-Roh live, their energy and enthusiasm is infectious to the crowds who come to see us !! Served up front by Matt "Artu" Burn on the "Vocals & Rythmic Dance" this ALT/ROCK/FUNK outfit is driven by Peter "Stablo" Papps on Drums, the slappin low frequencies of Rohan "Chi" Maddox on Bass...& rounded out with the plush,yet attacking guitar work of Kerin "K-Dog" Lockley. Focusing on fun, funk & chunk & originality in song writing, the members of this band have been invigorating the live music scene since 2007, after doin show after show for a year and a bit at it (and a new bass player ) we finally got a break in 2009 by being 1 of 8 local bands selected to playoff for a spot on the SOUNDSCAPE FESTIVAL ( which we won)(delightful !!!).......................................After playing the 2009 SOUNDSCAPE FESTIVAL sharing the stage with PNAU, CUT COPY , MAMMAL , THE GETAWAY PLAN , MUPH'N'PLUTONIC & BEHIND CRIMSON EYES, and doing the Victorian Bushfire Benefit show @ the REPUBLIC BAR , supporting MAMMAL on their Tasmania shows, lots of supports and EP launches around the state it has just intensified our passion and commitment for our band and the music has paid off being rewarded with one of our songs put on the AMPLIFIED sounds from Tasmania Artists compilation CD, we are looking upward for bigger and better things !!! bring on the summer time love.... One can't help but wonder what can happen when Chi-Roh are on the festival circuit spreading the fun funk/rock or in your town club, pub or ya nans bingo meeting hmmm........ pants dropping, jaw dropping, stubby dropping fun ! !
