Liquid Nails

About Me

Liquid Nails formed in 2004 and released their first CD "Bogan Valley Breakdown" in 2006 followed by "Lizard In The Sun" at the end of 2007. Both CD's have been played on various local radio programs In 2006 they were runners up in the new bands category of the Melbourne Blues Appreciation Society, Australian Blues Awards, and in the 2006 Tasmanian Amplified Awards, took out the title for Best Upcoming Band, North West. 'Cruel Love' was selected to appear on the 2006 double Amplified CD, and in the next awards for 2008, 'Ian From Zeehan' was chosen for the CD. Performances so far include the Devonport Jazz Festival, in 2005, 2006 and 2007, the Launceston Blues Club, 2004 and 2007, the Launceston Blues Festival 2006, Ulysses Motorcycle National AGM Tasmania, 2006, the Forth Valley Blues Festival, 2005 and 2007, Forest Festival 2008, and of course various pubs, clubs and venues throughout Tasmania "Bogan Valley Breakdown" and the new CD "Lizard In The Sun", is avaliable from local CD stores, or contacting us at [email protected] Teresa and Pete are also members of the nine piece rock 'n' soul band, "Nine Lives". Kyron has also played with the Outloop Way Blues Band (Japan) and other artists, and Pete, Australian award winning blues band "Salty Dog" in 2007 and 2009, boogie woogie piano player extrodinaire Jan Preston in 2008, and in September along with Scott Mainwaring on bass, backed Anne McCue at the Republic Bar, Hobart. Anne is a brilliant musician, originally from OZ, now based in Nashville. Catch her where you can. Pete has also done the occasional gig with the Sheyana Band, and country rock band the Urban Outlaws. A re-vamped Liquid Nails will be performing from September 2009, featuring new original songs and band members, and Kyron will also be performing a number of solo gigs. Watch for news.
"Liquid Nails are a 4 piece band with a wide variety of songs in their arsenal. They run the gamut of musical genre and give it all a little blue tinge. Whether playing original material or their interpretations of some well known covers, Liquid Nails never fails to get an audience moving. So if you need some good music think of liquid nails!"
"Here we have 10 original tracks which have all been well written and played on by one of Tasmania's top blues acts. The band has put together a mixture of rock, bee-bop, pop, reggae and swing to produce a CD with different feels and styles. The band plays all styles well, bringing them together in a blues format. The band has guitar, keyboards, bass and drums with all members helping in the vocals. The band sounds very good musically and have produced a most entertaining CD."
