No Time For Love If They Come In the Morning

About Me

I am 1/4 of Exhumed Films and 1/2 of Diabolik DVD. I am presently working on a series of "solo" programming/event gigs outside Exhumed Films. Many of these events will fuse live music with film. In 2006 I co-conceived The Valerie Project with Greg Weeks. The Valerie Project went on to be performed at the Meltdown Festival at the Royal Festival Hall in London ("opening" for Jarvis Cocker), the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) and the Anthology Film Archive in NYC and other venues. In the olden days I used to co-edit Philly Zine with Sean Gustilo and edit NO LONGER A FANzine (NLAFz). Off and on from very late 1989 - 1991 I was in the HC punk/prog joke band The Orgasmic Toilet Band with Dion Paci, Marty DeSantis and a revolving cast of drummers (Winston Bird and Jeff Bradbury). I co-founded the Philly's (now-defunct) Cabbage Collective with my brother Bull and Chris Fry (then of the band Policy of 3).If you'd like to hear an interview with me by Megan Curran that aired on NPR in October, 2004 it is here: http://www.macmichael.org/ryan/sounds/whyy-exh.mp3

My Interests

Art, horror and documentary films. The filth and the fury. Reading: big time! Hiking and exploring Fairmount Park (which is, essentially, my backyard). Running while avoiding ogres. My bike, my ass on it, my feet propelling me forward. Raw fish from the lips of death. Discipline and control make the man. Works sets me free. Traveling when I can, wherever I can. Crumhorns. Watching enemies suffer. Seasons that aren't summer. Insects! Elf stuff. Nests + eggs. Everything in its right place. That which leaves lipstick traces. Talking animals. Lives of the Saints. Classes at the Wagner Free Institute of Science. Steel-capped boots. Starting to write again. Laughing laughing laughing at the contrived angst, therapy, drugs and self-destructive behavior of those who came from privilege. NPR. Those wonderful mushrooms. London Social Degree. Fueled by tea. Superb vegetarian/vegan restaurants. Le chats. I've got more plots than a cemetery, more deals than a casino.

I'd like to meet:

A seasoned witch to draw me from the depths of my disgrace, to re-arrange my liver to the solid mental grace.
