About Me

The state of man does change and vary,
Now sound, now sick, now blyth, now sary,
Now dansand mirry, now like to die:
Timor Mortis conturbat me.

- William Dunbar

This is how one pictures the angel of history. His face is turned toward the past. Where we perceive a chain of events, he sees a single catastrophe which keeps piling wreckage upon wreckage and hurls it in front of his feet. The angel would like to stay, awaken the dead, and make whole what has been smashed. But a storm is blowing from Paradise; it has got caught in his wings with such violence that the angel can no longer close them. This storm irresistibly propels him into the future to which his back is turned, which the pile of debris before him grows skyward. This storm is what we call progress.

Exhaustion

I just moved into my new house in Northern Liberties. It sounds ridiculous, but it's true. I'm exhausted, and I won't have internet for awhile.

Weirdest dream of the week, and probably the month:

All I'm going to say is that it involved Nightcrawler, a tattoo chair, and a disposable razor. What the fuck. It was like what would happen if Cronenberg directed an X-Men fetish film. Something is re...

and you, you said you would wait till the end of the world

Some days I feel like everything is fine and I am remarkably well adjusted. Other days, I feel like nothing has changed and I'm just as unwell as I used to be. This is one of those latter times.
