After dissolving of Republika, its guitarist had disappeared
from the sight. It turned out, however, that Zbyszek Krzywaski
hadnt been messing around. During the last concert with Republika,
which honoured the Review of Stage Songs in 2002, he met
Jacek Boczyk (one of the actors of Kombinat performance at that time).
The artists started working together which resulted in Depresjonici album,
signed by both men.
Above all, Depresjonici is material for supporters of the most ambitious
quest of Krzywaskis mother band Republika. The project is aimed at
musically mature listeners, at the multitude of Republika fans, as, apart
from the atmosphere of King Crimson or Frank Zappa,
Boczyk/Krzywaski is most widely associated with Republika.
The author of majority of the songs is Zbyszek Krzywaski, the composer
and the co-composer (together with Grzegorz Ciechowski)
of loads of Republikas hits.
Lyrics written and sung by Jacek Bonczyk have nothing to do with
the banal things so often encountered in Polish rock music.
The Depresjonici promo concert in Fabryka Trzciny club in Warsaw
was enthusiastically welcomed by the audience (not only by the
fans of Republika, who were the majority), but also by the music critics.
The performance of the band in the Agnieszka Osiecka Studio in Polish
Radio Three was even a magic event. The audience gathered, majority
of which were truthful Republika fans, awarded every single song with
thunderous applause and demanded successive encores. The listeners
in front of their radios also fell for the B&Ks outputs power. To prove that
there are hundreds of emails which Piotr Kaczkowski received
broadcasting his cult Sunday programme just after the concert
had finished. It was then that this powerful music authority stated
on air his verdict: The Depresjonici album by Boczyk/Krzywaski is
the biggest music event of 2005 in Poland! Im sure this is the best
recommendation one can get.
