About Me

Myspace Layouts - Myspace Editor

In attempt to behave like a narcissist... I am fun loving, eccentric, opinionated (though open-minded), wild to an extent (after all by zodiac I'm a lion), independent, strong, driven and a continually changing woman. I'm first generation Ukrainian and am very proud that I try to maintain as many parts of my culture as possible being that I was born in the States. On good days, I'm extremely optimistic and high energy. I go through seasonal shifts and demand change every so often. Love the gym, but don't live there (though when really motivated, as I am now, that can be debated). I believe in treating others in the same manner in which you expect to be treated, with respect and courtesy. I'm progressive in many respects, but still believe in manners and chivalry.

My Interests

My interests are as diverse as I am, ranging from economics to hip hop classes at Crunch. I have a great desire in promoting economic development for women throughout the world, especially in developing countries. I value education of any kind, whether it be the education you receive in a classroom or that which you acquire on the street.

An old, but rediscovered passion of mine has been art. Though by no means an art major, historian, or a person who even pretends to know much about it, I do enjoy venturing to various art musuems, learning about different artists, techniques and styles. Though it's been about five years since I've used my once favorite medium, charcoal pastels, I am contemplating taking a plunge into an art course again. Sadly, the teacher who inspired me in high school recently passed, but Steph sure made a difference in my life.

As many of you know, I really enjoy getting involved in charity events. Recently, I've been trying to get "involved" with Involved Events. It's a really interesting concept/organization for as they put it "clubbers who care." Please check out their website www.involvedevents.com for future events and auctions. If you are into the dance music scene this is a pretty neat treat. Not only do they have great auction VIP packages for some of the most world reknown djs, but it goes to an amazing organization to help those less fortunate around the world. 100% of the money goes to the George Harrison founation in association with UNICEF. GET INVOLVED!

If you have the opportunity, go check out Pilobolus. AMAZING!

I love hanging with my girls, literally ;)

The Good Ol' Times

..

,

I'd like to meet:

Honestly, I don't need random people requesting me as a friend just to rack up their numbers. If you're going to place a request I either (a) know you or (b)you've messaged me as to why you're asking. Otherwise, expect a denial.

First the dislikes: pretentious, condescending, shallow, extremely materialistic, uneducated, by choice ignorance, unambitious, obnoxious, discusses money, I think that's the basics. Oh one more, people who write as though they never completed elementary school.

Music:

My musical taste is about as ecclectic as I am. It ranges from the soft soothing sounds of Olive and Shea Seger to rock bands of the 80s such as Bon Jovi to ambient to progressive house. Every so often, I like to listen to some humorous, yet dark music, such as Lords of Acid. Come on "Spank my Booty" and "Pussy" are classics! The only music I have no ear for is country. Just not my cup of tea or beer, whatever they chose to cry in ;)

What I've been listening to lately:
Dance Favorites: Ferry Corsten; DJ Manolo; The Underground Project, Freemasons, Roger Sanchez, Dave McCullen; Deep Dish; Tiesto; JP; Gabriel & Dresden; oldie but goodie - Club 69 "Drama"

In general: Madonna; Freemasons, Imogen Heap; Frou Frou; Skye; Olive; Snow Patrol; Jason Nevins, The Veronicas; The Fray; Taxidoll; God-des and She; Nek (Italian sultry hottie with an amazingly sexy voice - maybe it's just the Italian); Eamon; Keo Nozari; Ray J; Rihanna; AFI; Amerie; I absolutely love Jon B's sexy sound

Movies:

It's not really a movie, but it's a 1970s Russian Cartoon called Nu Pogodi that I grew up watching and still adore to this day. If you do not speak Russian, this cartoon is hillarious to watch even as an adult.

"He feels a loss, how is it possible to miss a woman whom he kept at a distance, so that when she was gone he would not miss her. Only then does he realize that wanting part of her and not all of her has damaged them both, and how he cannot justify his actions except that, well, it was life." Shopgirl

Television:

The L Word (my new guilty pleasure!), Grey's Anatomy, Desperate Housewives, Tales of the City, Da Ali G Show, Real Time with Bill Maher, Mind of Mencia (his political incorrectness is simply hillarious - de de DE), Coupling (the British version), Sex in the City, any George Carlin standup show.

Books:

I love books. I don't know what it is about the smell of a new book and/or the prospect of an enjoyable story, hopefully knowledgeable information that may or may not enrich my life, or just the anticipation of an afternoon of imagination.
any book by Thomas Friedman or Bill Maher
