Richard King, Composer /Arranger/ Minstrel, has been in the music life from a young age; the aspiration of singing has always been in the forefront of his heart for as long as he can remember. His mother, a choir director for a number of years, raised his entire family to not only sing, but also play instruments. Their first family group the Kings Kids (which included older brother and sister Robert and Cherlyne) traveled in the Midwest performing for various churches as well as showcases, many were awed at the childrens ability to sing in perfect harmony. As their family grew larger they began training the other members and became Kingdom Bound. This tradition of music carried them into present day where the musical family still plays a very active role within music ministries at local churches, and are a huge part of Richards music ministry as well.
Richard began pursuing music professionally when he moved from St Louis, MO to Milwaukee, WI. In 1999, his amazing voice allowed him the opportunity to sing for a taping of the Jamie Foxx Show, as well as meet David Talbert, an award winning Gospel Playwright. He lended his musical gifting to ministries such as: Anthony McGahee &Voyces, the Wisconsin State Youth Choir, Glen Hall and Tru Prayze, where they ministered for Dorinda Clark-Cole. He also ministered at events for the Christian Faith Fellowship Church-Bishop Darrell Hines, Pastor, and many others.
In 2004, Richard was blessed to obtain 1st Place for the New Artist Showcase at the Olanda Drapers Music Lovers Conference in Memphis, TN and returned the following year to perform at the Isaac Hayes Restaurant. He started Strength Ministries, a local gospel group, and was the Musical Director for the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh Gospel Choir until 2005. In 2006, Richard became the Minister of Music for the World Outreach Center church in Milwaukee, he currently serves as the resident worship leader.
