"Sun Sooley is born in Dakar, Senegal. He has been one of the Hip Hop pioneers with his ex band P. FROISS and has been an undisputed reggae reference in his country with band AKIBOULANE.
With band JANT BI ("The Sun" in Wolof), he joined Hip Hop History in Senegal with the album most sold of its generation.Endowed with qualities of singer, rapper and sing-jay, he also has a gift for music and lyrics composition and arrangement.In 2003, his album "Siratikal Mustaqim" comes out. His main track "Soukanayo" (Child, light up!" in Poulhar) is a revival from famous senegalese singer Baba Maal, with whom he formed an outstanding duet, followed through a video.
Then, he formed, with late Abdourahmane WONE, aka Bébé aka Countryman, the band AKIBOULANE (Al Kébulan, the first name of Africa revealed by Cheikh Anta DIOP).
Sun Sooley records his album with composers such as MONSIEUR GREG and MAO (2006 Champion composers battle in France)In a very short time, he performs on stage in New Morning and Elysée Montmartre (Paris).
