Tex-Tone pickups is all about cool guitar tone. And guitar tone is one of the most subjective subjects ever approached. It all depends on what you are into. If you are going for that super wacked out, grindcore, post metal, death thrash, then my pickups are probably not for you. However, if you are into practically anything else, then Tex-Tone can make a pickup that helps you achieve the sound in your head.
Tex-Tone pickups are handmade one at a time by me (David Allmon) and tested for quality. There are currently four models available:
Model T - These are single coil pickups designed for Tele* or Strat* type guitars. These pickups use 2 ceramic magnets mounted under the pickup and adjustable screw pole pieces. This creates a warmer, less focused sound with more midrange.
Model TC - These are the same as the Model T except that the magnets are modified to produce less "pop" on the unwound strings while "chicken pickin".
Humbucker - These are classic PAF* pickups that sound as good clean as they do screaming through the lead channel of your Dual Rectifier* with face melting levels of gain.
P-90 - These are pickups that have the classic Gibson* single coil vibe. There is nothing like a P-90 for that raw bite with awsome low end punch.
So whether you are into Rock, Country, or Jazz having the right equipment is key to getting the sound you are after. And I am not naive enough to think that a Tex-tone pickup will be the answer for everyone, but send me a message and we can talk about the solution to achieving your tone.
*Tex-Tone has no affiliation with Fender, Gibson, or Mesa Boogie. Tele and Strat are registered trade marks of Fender, and Dual Rectifier is a registered trademark of Mesa Boogie.*
