About Me
Kelly started playing as a professional musician at the age of 14. By age 19, he was already on the road playing in venues across the country. Music brought him to the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex in 1995, and since then he has developed a reputation as one of the most dynamic and recognizable guitar players in Texas. He was awarded the achievement as being DFW's "Guitar Player of the Year" in the 2003 Terry Awards .
With a technique that easily compliments the style of any artist, Kelly also has the ability to command the stage with his signature playing method, filled with flowing double-stops, slide guitar, string bends, speedy scale runs and arpeggiated chords. His sounds are in demand from some of the most successful writers and players in the music industry.
He has played for well known artists such as Bo Diddley, Randy Coven, The Mavericks, Roy Head, Billy Dean, and Doug Supernaw and has opened for countless recording superstars including Ray Charles, Shania Twain, Brooks & Dunn, Foghat, Loverboy, Charlie Daniels Band, Lee Roy Parnell, Junior Brown, Delbert McClinton, and Restless Heart, all of which has given Kelly the experience that enables him to walk into any given project with confidence and professionalism.
In addition to playing, Kelly has also contributed extensively in song-writing with Mark Nesler, the man behind Tim McGraw's number 1 hit "Just To See You Smile" as well as various other hits recorded by George Strait, Mark Chestnut, Tracy Byrd, Lee Greenwood, Tammy Wynette, and others.
Prided in versatility and influenced by an array of players such as Junior Brown, Stevie Ray Vaughn, Lee Roy Parnell and his own father, Neville Wayne Walker, Kelly has taken a little from all those who have inspired him, added his own special touch, and developed a style that could be called his very own.
