DeadEnd

METAL IS ALIVE !!!!!

About Me

DeadEnd began four years ago by two brothers, from the South Wales valleys. At the age of 10 Callum began learning the basics of guitar and his younger brother, Elliott, aged 9, started learning drums. Both excelled in their lessons and soon began writing their own material. As months passed they improved and gained in confidence until they played their first gig, outside their house in the street, in front of 35 people.
Then, at the ages of 12 and 11 respectively, Callum and Elliott opened at The Pop Factory with a 20 min set. A headline show at the Maltsters arms soon followed and DeadEnd had already built up a small following. Since then gigs at Tom's Bar, Trefforest, and the Merthyr Studio Bar have attracted lots of positive interest. Their most memorable gig being at the Pontypridd Muni arts centre, where they had the privilage to open the first ever 'Fight Night' show with bands like Chaos Trigger, Ill System, Panel and Johnny Mental.
Their drive and determination allowed them to play eight shows in a matter of six weeks, playing venues such as The Black, in Aberdare, The Dog & Muff and as far as Newport's TJ's (the Newport gig being played to over five hundred people). More gigs at The Maltsters, Studio Bar and 'The Point' in Cardiff gave them a great wealth of experience and desire to progress.
And progress they did, firstly supporting local sensations Ill System (on their last ever uk appearance), an appearance at a sell out Ponty Muni crowd and then finishing off 2006 by winning the 'Band Of The Year' competition through the Teen spirit club.If 2006 was a good year for DeadEnd, 2007 had a lot to live up to, and it started well....
DeadEnd's first show back after the seasonal break was again as a part of the 'Fight Night' series, and after critical acclaim, were invited back in March to play with bands Dopamine, The Unsung, Last Call and 12 Gauge Alliance. The March show proving to be extremely prestigious, especially the interest and support given from a Major record label and other respected artists. So what does the rest of the year hold for DeadEnd?...
With the addition of Mathew Morgan on Bass Guitar (a metal fan through and through who brings another dynamic edge to the band), fast, fresh songs and an ever increasingly energetic live set, DeadEnd can grow from strength to strength.
DeadEnd thrive on the fact they write their own material. All their songs are written and played by themselves and they would not have it any other way. With the inspiration of local bands like 'Hand Of The Daedra', Panel, Ill System, Mea, Flatline and Chaos Trigger, they strive to make the best metal music they can and wont stop at nothing....
