About Me

Began performing in college with Bakharani Massacre with Korry Keeker and Michael Rosenfeld . Worked with Michael Mulvihill to reunite Big Star for the University of Missouri college radio station 's Springfest celebration in 1993 . Later formed the Columbia, MO - based collective Norwegian Wound with a rotating membership that frequently included Dan Browning and Sean Witzman . The band performed their final show with Tight Bros From Way Back When in Asheville, NC with Witzman and Jeremy Freez . Moved to Massachusetts and played extensively with Meathawk and the Meathawks in Northampton . Currently performing with the Somerville - based Concord Ballet Orchestra Players , Brai ngels from Brookline , Northampton 's Sephiroth's Knot , a reunion of the original Norwegian Wound lineup called Stop Slash Eject , and with the Red F , a side project from Phantom Buffalo guitarist Tim Burns . Vocalizing and production skills are also to be found on the new ( 6/20/06 ) Black Helicopter album Invisible Jet on Ecstatic Peace Records .

Most Bitter formed in Spring of 2005 to tour with Bunwinkies . In a duo with 3rdness , opened for Thurston Moore / Andrew "Gown" MacGregor duo at PACE in Easthampton, MA . Joined by old compatriot Dan Browning, Most Bitter toured New England and Philadelphia in July of 2006 with the Vermont band Little Wooden Men. Has played with Ten Years Old , Alcoa , Ben Lucal , Soltero, Mother Mallard, Constant Solo, Alec K Redfearn, Nick Castro, Jow Jow the Death Knell Rung, White Light, Texas Governor, Seana Carmody, Shawn David McMillen, Verona Downs, Chop Chop, Brian Michael Roff, Tractor Operator, Testface, Team Robospierre, Kemman, the Pedals, Hexa, Txocha Txocha, Major Stars, Cursillistas, the Red F, Nonloc, 28 Degrees Taurus, Fight the Ocean, Mike and Ruth Merenda, the Can Kickers, Kurt Weisman, Spouse, Maggie Mayday, Shepherdess, Clint Conley, New Randy, Antiques, Black Helicopter, Magic Markers, Jerusalem and the Starbaskets, and Stephen Brodsky. Most Bitter records when and where possible on computers , cassette decks , recording studios , or whatever means are at hand .

"Foundations" is a cover of a tune by Kate Nash, and was created on Garageband on the morning of August 14, 2007 before I got out of bed.
"It Isn't Me" is a live version of the popular Most Bitter track featuring Tim from Antiques on drums and Audrey Ryan on lead guitar as performed at Charlie's Kitchen in Harvard Square.
"The Wrong Flower" was composed using Garageband virtual instruments and a mouse and was recently mastered by Pete Weiss at Verdant Studios for release on a forthcoming split 45 with Potions Made By Children. "Past One O'Clock" is an adaptation of the final poem by Vladimir Mayakovsky performed on a Casio MT-240 through a Boss DD-20 delay pedal, with a shruti box, vocal track recorded after 1 a.m. and an unlooped recording of crickets. The song was mixed using Audacity freeware.


These tracks are not currently featured on the profile: "Sunset in Dixie" is an adaptation of a poem by Langston Hughes and was performed on keyboard and shruti box and was recorded on a Korg digital 8-track.
"Utter Alien Thoughts" was composed on Logic with Peter Hanlon and Greg Pothier and features guitar, bass, percussion, shruti box, lap steel, programmed beats, keyboards, vocals recorded in a shower used as sound booth, and air-popped popcorn.
"It Isn't Me" was recorded on a M-Audio Microtrack with a Casio MT-240 and a Yamaha Electone BK-4B organ . "It Isn't Me" is a live version recorded in North Falmouth, MA at Mahoney Manor and features drum and organ sounds from the Casio MT-240, the bass playing of Dan Browning, and a guest guitar solo from Rental Fluids' Quentin Mahoney.
