Don't really watch TV anymore, but: Seinfeld and Simpsons, Conan O'Brian, Northern Exposure, Freaks and Geeks and The Monkees, especially the episode with the Frodus Room with the talking plant that had one big football-shaped eyeball (made out of cardboard) that had to be brought back to the spaceship in order to release the laughing gas that would destroy the power of the evil Wizard Glick. Or something of that sort.
