Ziyo comes from Tarnow, a town with a unique spirit which inspires very clearly by listening to the harmonious music but also we can find a great expression released during their concerts. In the summer of 1986, ZIYO played at Jarocin Festival and since that time they succeeded with a huge recognition of there music in the polish music industry. During one of Ziyo's festival schedules, the British BBC recorded a documentary on polish rock. The program named 'My Blood, your blood' directed by Andrzej Kostenko recorded Ziyo playing out on set the song "I don't know". In 1987 Ziyo performed in a competition at Mokotowska Polska Jesien making the band achieve yet again the festivals top headlining act of the competition. With succeeding with Mokotowska Polska Jesien, Polish Radio Program III invited Ziyo to record in the studio two of there songs "I don't know" and Sigh. The song "I don't know" was a hit for Polish Radio PRIII hitting in the Marek's Niedzwiecki top list at number fifteen position. After the Jarocin Festival, Ziyo recorded two new songs at Walter's Chelstowski studio CCS: "Master President" and "Under one sky". Again, the songs became popular on the Polish Radio bringing along with them new success.
In March Ziyo recorded a 30 minute video for TVP, this small step later developed into Ziyo leaping into a bigger and a more successful carrier. In September at modern Rzeszow Studio RSC Ziyo is recording material for a debut album. After a show at Katowice (Spodek 1988) Mister President, Grafitti and We are Going was carried out to be of most popular top ten famous songs PRIII and PRIV. In FMR Jarocin 1988, Ziyo was scheduled to play as headlining act for the festival, the band had a possibility to record one song Live during the festival - choice Graffiti. In the same year Ziyo is playing on the international festival Carrot together with Xymox and New Model Army. During all these years, Ziyo continues playing on every important Festival in Poland (FPP Opole, FMR Jarocin, Festiwal ycia, Odjazdy, Rock Atak, RóbReaggae, Fama, Rockowisko, Sopot) not to mention Prague as well. One of Ziyos songs Irleands was a hit in 1989 hitting Polish Radio III and winning the band of the year on the top. A very important event for Ziyo was participating a concert named Rock for Aids in Warsaw holding an audience of sixty thousands fans. 1990 Ziyo recorded material for the album Gloria. All the songs on the album were translated into English, modernising for the polish music industry although, the album was critisized for the style of music which was similar like the band U2. In September 1993 Ziyo started to prepare material for the album calls "Tetris. The single Magical Words became a hit in polish Radios and television. During the year, Ziyo was schedualed to hold shows in France and in the same time working on a new album. In summer 1994 Ziyo is playing a lot of concerts around 180 and festivals in Jarocin and Sopot included making a promotion of Tetris. After this tired promotion period, members of ziyo decided to concentrate on their private music projects. Drummer K.Krupa is working with Kazik,Albert Rosenfield, Pivo, Justyna Steczkowska, Robert Gawlinski , Acid Drinkers and Artur Gadowski. A guitarist W.Klich is preparing his own original album and J.Dural is working with Cold War and with Malgorzata Ostrowska. In summing up for 1994 year Magical words is on fourth position in main competition Polish Radio. 1996 and 1997 this is concerts time and preparation a new album Spectrum which will appear in the end of 1998 year promoted by singel "Deja Vu 1986", again many concerts and promoting. The new year 1999 Ziyo began a concert in Czechowice Dziedzice for many fans playing the most famous songs from all albums:Master President, Graffiti,Islands,Magical Words, Déjà vu 1986 and also Christmas songs. Ziyo is playing also in Wielka Orkiestra Swiatecznej Pomocy three shows in the same day:Krakow, Nowy Sacz and Skoczow. In 2001, a greatest hits album was released named Exlibris Magic Songs from 1986 2000. After the album was released, the band decided to head out for a break lasting for three years apart. The members of Ziyo are making their involved in there own music projects, such as the leader Jerzy Dural is trying to set up his own Recording studio. In the middle of 2005, Ziyo surprised fans with a brand new album POPBURGER. A new modern electronic music style is a bit different than ziyos older music but in Year 2006 is very special as Ziyo is to be celebrating twenty years in the music industry with a very big success because of front man Jerzy Dural who is with ZIYO from the beginning.
