She was born on 10th of June in Gliwice. Karolina was brought up within the environment of people involved in art. Her house has always been full of music, dance and plastic arts. She has been painting and drawing since forever. Later she started to play the guitar and sing. ____________________________________________________________ _____________ She bagan her adventure with jazz when she was only a teenager who spent all her time at jam sessions in Silesian Jazz Club in Gliwice. She was a student of Krystyna Pronko and Anna Serafinska. She also developed her voice during International Workshops of SLS Vocal Technique conducted by american lecturers. Many time she had an occasion to talk to Kevin Mahogeny about her improvisational skills. ____________________________________________________________ _____________In 2003 she was won a prestigious XXX International Festival Of Jazz Vocalists in Zamosc. It enabled her to continue her musical development and resulted in many concerts in Poland (Smart Jazzpol Festival 2003, Bluse over Bobr 2004, Gogowskie Spotkania Jazzowe, Pilsner Urquel Jazz 2005, Colours of sound 2006). She has been well received by the critics and journalists (Jazz Forum, Jazzi Magazine). In 2004, according to fusion.pl survey, she classified fourth in the popularity ranking (vocalist / vocal group) in Poland. As professionals say: the jazz environment recognizes her as a rising star of Polish jazz vocalism.She sang with such an outstanding musicians as e.g.: Piotr Rodowicz, Krzysztof Scieraski, Bogdan Holownia, Bernard Maseli, Wojciech Majewski, Marek Raduli, Kazimierz Jonkisz, Arek Skolik or Piotr Biskupski. She mostly specializes in instrumental approach to human voice and pays attention to scat improvisation technique. She experiments with the sound of her vocal by using her great imagination and a 4-octave scale. In June 2006 her song, as the only one was representing jazz music, in semi-final of TOP TRENDY pop festival in Sopot. In the Summer 2007 She was represanting Poland on "Lady Summertime" Jazz Vocalist Festival and in July 2007, American Music Magazine "Singer Universe" choose her as one The 5 Best Vocalist of The Month! ____________________________________________________________ ____________Her music is characterized by an improvisational and colourful approach to jazz. She is a vocalist performing music of various characters depending on the musical concepts she is currently focusing on. That is why we can listen to her interpretation of Route 66 or Dont Mean a Thing or her own compositions. The highlight of her talents is her open impressionistic forms leading her towards freejazz in which she presents all of her possibilities. Her highly emotional ballads touch us, her crazy improvisations amaze us; no wonder her concerts are being tagged with a motto: If you can`t sing it, improvise it!. She is also the youngest artist whose talent was valued by a record company Pololnia Records one of her tracks was placed on a record The Best of Polish Smooth Jazz. ____________________________________________________________ ____________ Since the reissuing of a magazine Jazz Magazin, she has been publishing articles in it, concerning vocal techniques, her opinions and comments and new stars in the vocal environment. She has already helped Marek Balata conduct a series of vocal workshops for young trainee vocalists. Many professional musician, such as e.g. Jan Ptaszyn Wróblewski, comment on her very positively.
