I am DJ Shok, I spin INDUSTRIAL at Toronto's legendary Savage GardenNightclub . Along with my partners DJ Panzer Glamour & DJ Assault and the city's best DJs, I spin regularly at aweekly event called Savage Friday - Toronto's most insane club night; it features 2 rooms of DJ madness. The Front Room is DJ Panzer Glamour and myself spinning nonstop audio industrial violence: anything from EBM to Powernoise, from Angelspit to Zeromancer and back. In addition I spin at random events around the city both in clubs and on theradio. My DJing preferences include Rhythmic Noize, Harsh EBM, Aggrotech and old school Industrial. However, I incorporateother musical styles into my DJ sets ranging from synthpop to goth to trance... whatever keeps the crowds happy, that isafter all the DJ's duty.
Along with DJing I also run promotions for Savage Garden . Thisincludes booking live acts and designing flyers and other commercial media. So, if you're a performer/band and areinterested in doing a show at the club feel free to contact me and I'd be glad to provide you with details.
I strongly believe that music and art are an integral part in making human existence meaningful. As such I am a supporter ofartists and am always trying to expose people to new material, both through my DJing and through promotions. I believe inbuilding a fan base for artists before inviting them for a show and doing the utmost possible to ensure they receive properadvertising. This comes at no cost to the artist, as it is something I generally enjoy and believe in doing. Though Ishould mention that I only deal with artists whom I respect. I welcome elitists and eccentrics, but refuse to deal withassholes.
