I don't like Coldplay

About Me

Ahoy hoy,
My name is Ash, pleased to meet you. You may, or may not, have gathered by now that I write reviews. I have been doing this for about three and a half years and have not, thus far, received a penny for it BUT that's OK, because I love doing it.

Now what am I here for you ask? Well, I want to review your band. I want to spread the word about you, I want the world to know how great or, as the case sometimes is, rubbish your band is.

So here's the deal: send me a message either on here or to [email protected] and tell me about your music. Send me some if you like, and I will hopefully be able to churn out a review for you. If you are situated in the South West, I may also be able to make it to your show, so do ask.

Reviews will appear in the form of a blog, and, if I like what I've written and you do to, the review could appear on www.myspace.com/designerpunk or In It For The Money promotions' new zine.

ALSO: If I really like your EP/album/demo whatever, you will become my band of the fortnight which means your song goes on my profile and I generally whore you to my friends.

Don't forget to check out my personal myspace if you want, over at www.myspace.com/musicandwords
So please, get in touch, let's have some fun.

My Interests

Writing, reading, listening.

For my personal interests, see my own myspace. There are lots of them. But for the purposes of this page, my interest is you.

I'd like to meet:

Bands, solo artists, music enthusiasts, interesting people, fellow reviewers, industry insiders, deep thinkers and fun seekers.

VOTE FOR M!E! TO PLAY COLLISION COURSE AT THEIR MYSPACE ADDRESS

Music:

I like so much music. Punk, hardcore, emo, rock, metal, indie, electronica, classical, acoustic, pop/prog/soft-rock, folk, country and even a little bit of pop now and again.

Movies:

Television:

American dramas such as Six Feet Under and ER, and those kinda comedy/drama hybrid things they do like Ally McBeal. The almighty Simpsons of course, and english sitcoms, as well as What Not To Wear.

Books:

Right now I am reading a lot of transgressional fiction. I like books with an exciting and/or intricate storyline, and with the kind of characters that you never forget. I am not such a big fan of books dealing with family drama, or personal development, or romance or anything.

Right now I like Bret Easton Ellis and Ian Banks.

Heroes:

I like a lot of journalists, but my favourite music journalist right now is Ben Myers.

Other heroes include my friends, and protagonists from my favourite books.

It's 2006, a full two years, practically to the day, since Bridport saw the best gig it ever had, barring (arguably) the Get Cape show earlier this month. All that time ago things were different, the ...

'Dusk and Summer' was a perfect choice of album name for Dashboard Confessional's new full length. It is obvious, even on first listen, that this will be the soundtrack to many an adolescent summer, l...
