Signsedso has been through many changes since forming in 2000. Location, members, sounds, vans... heck, things are changing as you read this. The band formed as a three piece in Central Illinois. Ian G. on drums, Justin M. on bass/vox, and Mark S. on guitar/vox. After playing thier first show (a memorable night at the famed/no-longer GALLERY in Normal, IL) the trio hopped out to Phoenix, Arizona for no apparent reason other than to get away from homebase and play some shows.
Arizona was HOT. Like 116 degrees. And there were alot of hot bands around town as well. Signsedso befriended many a GREAT bands and soon began playing with them. Phoenix was very accepting of the band and people began coming out to shows. During this period many E.P. 's were self released on the bands own NO SUPPORT imprint. Self-made and self- distributed, these cd's made thier way around both in Arizona and "back home" in Illinois. In 2002, the band traveled up to Denver, CO to spend a week with MATT VANLEUVEN at 8 HousesDown Studio. This recording became Signsedso's self-titled debut full length. Arizona indie label SUNSET ALLIANCE helped to release the album which received great reviews. The band toured as much as they possibly could between AZ and IL, and later on took to the East coast states as well.
In early 2003, the band was transplanted back to IL to focus less on finances and more on touring. Unfortunately, this decision took a toll on drummer Ian G. and he soon left the band. An acoustic tour of the East coast took place without a drummer. Upon returning, Signsedso found a new drummer in Kurt R. who happened to come with a guitar player, Dan L. More writing, more touring, and few months later... the new guitarist was off to other places. Dan L. went to Florida.
Signsedso had gotten used to being a four-peice, so they sought out a local guitarist/singer/rocker they had known through various bands. Chris G. (FirstGradeCrush, Steven) joined up in the autumn of 2003 bringing the group to it's current line-up.
In late 2004 the group went in the studio with MATT TALBOTT (formerly of HUM) at his Great Western Record Recorders studio. The "26-4" EP was self-released in early 2005 under the No Support imprint. The cd showed a band finally back on track with a solid line-up. More touring and songwriting ensued and finally the band was ready to put forth a new full length album. The band went with MARK RUBEL and his Pogo Studio in Champaign, IL to do the record. Signsedso is currently working on this album and will sneak you some peeks here and there! There is no release date set as of yet. Stay tuned.
