Growing up surrounded by violence, poverty and crime in the streets of Southeast- DC, the fiery femcee began to use her artistic abilities to channel the negativity around her. Always having a passion for performing and the arts, she joined marching bands at nearly every school she attended. She drew cartoon illustrations, which later became her very unique designs for clothing. She even began writing poetry which later developed into lyrics and then musical composures. Yet it wasnt unit her Senior year in High School when she performed the hit single Love Is Blind by female artist EVE at a talent showcase, that the light bulb went off that Music was something she wanted to do. After attending several colleges, she dropped out and decided to pursue a career in music. Durty Dy-Anna admits herself, that growing up here in "DC" although not known as a "Music Mecca" gave her a signature sound and style.When asked to describe herself musically the young star said this: "I write lyrics geared more towards educating females in general. Educating them on relationships, self-esteem issues, and self-imagery issues. I put the focus back on the true meaning and values of being a woman, because most women dont realize how powerful they really are. Yet, I also tackle daily dilemmas, such as social injustice, poverty, the crime plaguing our communities and the living situations of my fellow brothers and sisters. I speak from my heart and I really dont care who gets offended. I like to touch a variety of subject matters also. I make music that will make you laugh, dance, cry, and motivate you all at once. So if I had to sum all that up it would be the initials "S.H.L.I." which stand for Sexy, Hard, Lyrical, and Intelligent.So what does the future look like for DCs Princess of Rap? It's looking "VERY" bright! Durty Dy-Anna has hurdled several obstacles and they've only made her more wiser, stronger and more patient. There are several long overdue projects coming out so be on the lookout for her Debut Release in nearly three years titled, "Working Process" and also several Mixtapes, collaborations,Shes back!!!!
