A Star Shot out of the skies of Newark, NJ-- Rowdy Rahz.
Growing up in Newark aka The Bricks, ryhming wasnt the first choice for Rashon Brinson. You see, he used to be the one who did all the beat boxing, but later developed his writing style. The first rhyme I wrote, I just was like, Yo I want to be an MC, and Im not stopping until I get signed. Rowdy kept his style polished by entering local freestyle battles in Jersey and earned his rep for being a metaphoric giant. After serving several mic wielders, he was bestowed the nickname Rowdy Rahz.
While attending St. Peters College, Rahz tried shopping his demo damn near everywhere, to no avail. A few record companies were saying he was good and all that but they all fronted, recalls the young verbal assassin. Then luck changed. One of my boys had a connect with Flavor Units (Ceo) Shakim Compere and slid him a tape. Quickly Rahz was thrown on F.U.s comeback blast in 2000, The Takeover Compilation. A few years later Rahz was also apart of Flavor Unit project ( The Unit ) which he toured with and gained lost of exposure and experience. Appearing on The Apollo, Soul Train, The Wayne Brady Show, and Bets 106 and park.
Since then hes been on the grind, Collaborating with such artists as Method Man, Channel Live, Jaheim etc. Rahz can also be seen in Queen latifahs movie (Beauty Shop) and starring in an Inde film (Cash Rules). Hollywood here I come, says Rahz playfully but serious. The music industry has been missing a new multimedia superstar of his caliber. With his mesmerizing smile he captivates the ladies, and with his lyrical wordplay he commands respect from all rap adversaries.
Its really not my fault that I surf the web 40-plus inches Plasma style :)
