About Me

I'm Mandee. A 25 year old female living in the suburbs of St. Louis, Missouri. My main goal in life is to have as much fun and as many adventures as possible. Life is far too short to be bored so I'm constantly finding new ways to entertain myself. I love getting dressed up and going out, whether it be to a club, concert, party, or just to the mall. Shopping is a major passion in my life and I try to do it as much as possible even though I already have more than enough clothing... but there's always room for more! I drive a badass car, have an amazing boyfriend, and awesome friends.

I attempt to live by the "treat others as you wish to be treated" rule. Of course it seems that many people in this world choose not to live by the same standard so to put it bluntly: treat me with respect and I'll return the favor. Be an asshole and I'll stomp your face.

I don't have a job because I'm still a spoiled brat with princess syndrome [and proud of it], and I'm not in college because I don't have much interest in it. ...but no, this does not make me lazy in slightest. I'm ALWAYS busy doing something. I get a lot of "well what can you possibly do if you don't have work or school taking up all of your time?" questions. The answer to that would be: WHATEVER I WANT.

I spend my days doing various things, mostly while hanging out with my boyfriend or friends. I also enjoy having time to myself to create and learn. For fun I go to clubs, raves, & concerts among many other things. I love traveling & try to do it as much as possible. I'm an extremely active person with a lot of energy. I love being outside; taking walks, rollerblading at the park, having picnics, enjoying nature. I also enjoy spending a night at home, cuddling up with my boyfriend watching a movie while drinking tea. I have a vast multitude of interests and I'm very adventurous and always willing to try new things. I try to be as productive as possible in everything I do.

I'm extremely creative and I love art in all forms. Drawing, painting, making things. Performance art. Fashion design, graphic design, makeup artistry etc... However, photography and modeling are my main creative outlets. I'm constantly coming up with new ideas for photos. I find beauty in desolate, decayed atmospheres... things that were once loved and cared for & then left to rot. Exploring abandoned places while taking photos is one of my all time favorite activities. I also enjoy getting bloodied up and looking rather psychotic while taking suicide/zombie style photos... I have a dark, morbid sense of humor when it comes to certain things and I don't hold myself back from expressing it. Unfortunately MYSPACE warned me a while back to no longer post those type of photos or my account will be deleted. Censorship is a crime.

As for my appearance, it varies on a day to day basis. One day I may be all fancied up, parading around in giant monster boots with huge hair and tons of makeup, and the next wearing jeans and a t-shirt with next to no makeup.

A lot of people seem to think that I'm big on getting attention, or that I have an oversized opinion of myself. Or that I'm trying to "be" a certain thing or fit in with a certain group. The truth is: I'm not trying to be anything other than myself. I'm not looking to impress anyone. I don't act or look how I do because I'm attempting to be sexy or popular or fit in a little labeled box. I do what I do because it pleases me & I enjoy it. I'm quite happy with my life & I wouldn't change anything.

I have many aspects to my personality. I'm sweet and innocent, yet dark and sinister. Black and white. Skulls and butterflies. I can go from one end of the spectrum to the other with no problem. I'm very real & down to earth. I don't have an ego problem. I can be pretty shy and reserved in situations where I don't know people well, but once I get to know you I'm very open and talkative. However, I find it very hard to be close to people... only a very select few know the real me.

I update very often with what I've been doing & usually with a ton of photos. MYSPACE: I get completely swamped with messages on myspace, often not even being able to read them all much less being able to respond to every one of them. A lot of people get mad and think that I'm ignoring them if I don't respond, but the truth is there's only so many hours in a day and I cant spend them all on here reading and replying to messages. It's not a personal diss so try not to get your panties in a bunch if it takes me a while to get back to you! I've been using cameras for practically my entire life.I enjoy being behind the lense just as much as being in in front, and I can work with you to create some very nice & artistic images. GRAPHIC DESIGN: Flyers, photo touchups, album covers, custom myspace graphics, website, etc. I've been doing GD for about 13 years. A fringe is basically an extension piece for your bangs, meant to be paired with dread falls [although they can be worn without dreads as well] for a stunning effect. I LOVE FOOD. I have a very high metabolism and I'm always hungry. Anything with cheese makes me very happy. :D
I've been wearing black nail polish since 3rd grade. People back then thought I was very odd because nobody did that.
I like going to the dentist.
I have about 50 billion freckles but I'm a master of covering them up with makeup.
My natural hair color is reddish dark brown. I've been blonde since I was 15.
I didn't go to highschool because I started being homeschooled in 8th grade. I couldn't stand going to school because people were assholes and I felt like I was more advanced than what they were trying to teach me anyway.
I try to stay optimistic in every situation but I usually have a pretty gloomy outlook so I kind of contradict myself.
I hate talking on the phone and try to avoid doing so as much as possible. I actually think I have a phobia of phones. My current cellphone is a half broken RAZR. I definitely prefer texting.
I was a tomboy as a child. Always muddy and getting into trouble. I swore I'd never have a boyfriend or wear makeup or carry a purse. Things have obviously changed but I still have somewhat of that attitude.
I like taking long walks at night.
I often have my head "in the clouds", I get so deep in thought sometimes it's like I'm in a trance.
I'm a neat freak but I'm also a pack rat and have so much stuff it's hard to stay organized. I have giant collections of all sorts of things things which I try to keep neatly put away in plastic bins and drawers.
I have two fish and two gerbils, one of which is very obese.
SOMEDAY I WILL BE A MILLIONAIRE. It's true!

WORDS OF WISDOM: I get told quite often that people see me and my lifestyle/outlook as inspiration. I find this to be quite flattering and I'm glad that I can help people see things in a different perspective. Basically I feel that you should live your life for yourself, doing things that make you happy because after all, it is YOUR life... you should live it the way you want to. If other people look down upon you or make fun of you because of the way you are or choices that you make: screw 'em. Take charge and be strong in who you are and you will always come out on top in the end.

My musical tastes are very widespread. I don't stick to one genre because that's boring. Variety is the spice of life, biatch! While I can appreciate all types of music, I mostly listen to electronica/techno, rap, black metal, and everything under the umbrella of industrial. I'm definitely not a music nazi, and I'm not ashamed to admit that sometimes I like to rock out to mainstream teenybopper pop, haha. I'm quite openminded when it comes to listening to new things, and I'm always open to suggestions.

MARILYN MANSON

It was 1995, I was 12 years old, and in the 7th grade when I discovered the man and the band. I instantly became transfixed and that hasn't changed to this date. Everyone thought I was totally satanic and evil when I started sporting MM shirts every day to school. It was pretty amusing. My mom is awesome, and when they went on tour in late 1996 she took me to the show here in St. Louis. She used her magical powers and we got aftershow passes. Long story short, we ended up going all over the country (and out of the country, Canada, England & France) to see them and hang out. For my 14th birthday we went to Hawaii. That was 3 days of pure awesomeness that I will always treasure. When Mr. Manson wished me a happy birthday I almost fainted. Meeting, being able to speak to, and hang out with my idol was seriously the most amazing thing, and I will never forget all of the good times I had. I can't wait for the new tour!

I've met tons awesome people because of their music, and have had countless hours of fun traveling around and seeing them. I've been to numerous concerts (I lost count somewhere around 50), 6 gatherings, and plenty of other psychopathic events. I've gotten A TON of shit for liking them over the years, but it doesn't phase me. I have mad family love and I sport the hatchet with pride. DOWN WITH THE CLOWN TILL IM DEAD IN THE GROUND. Q: ARE YOU REALLY 25? YOU LOOK SO MUCH YOUNGER!
A: Yes, I'm not lying about my age. I constantly get told that I look like I'm 16 or sometimes even as young as 14! I think it's crazy, but I guess since I knew what I looked like at that age I consider myself to look grown up. I get carded for everything, but it doesn't really bother me because when I'm older I'm sure I'll appreciate looking young!

Q: ARE THE DREADS REAL?
A: No, I wear "dread falls" which are made out of synthetic hair or wool. I have quite a few pairs of these hair pieces, hence why my hair looks different in a lot of my pictures. Real dreads are cool, but they're not for me. I enjoy wearing falls because they're fun, easy and give me the ability to look one way one day and then completely different the next. My real hair is long, straight, and blonde with two big chunky black streaks.

Q: WHERE CAN I BUY DREAD FALLS?
A: There's tons of sites online to order falls, and you can even find them on eBay. I've had all of mine custom made from various sellers with online stores. Just google "dread falls" or search for them on eBay.

Q: WHERE DO YOU BUY YOUR CLOTHES/ OUTFITS/BOOTS?
A: I have an insane collection of clothing that I've bought over the years from all over the world. I purchase a lot of things from various online stores, and eBay is my favorite place to find unique items. I love shopping at independent "alternative" stores that I come across when I'm traveling around. I also buy a lot of things at the mall. Basically I'm always looking and when I see something I like, I buy it. I don't buy complete "outfits" anywhere, I get all the pieces separately and put them together for the completed look. I've been dressing this way for a very long time, so I've had years to gather all the items I wear. AS FOR THE "FURRY BOOTS", they're actually faux fur legwarmers that I wear on top of my footwear. Q: WHAT KIND OF MAKEUP DO YOU USE? HOW DO YOU DO IT?
A: I mainly use MAC products, as well as Kryolan, Manic Panic, Urban Decay, and Bloody Mary. You can find any of these brands easily by searching online for them. The false eyelashes I wear are all different brands that I buy at beauty supply/costume/halloween stores. As for "how I do my makeup" there's no real way to explain the answer to that question. Basically: I take the makeup and put it on my face. I've been experimenting with makeup for a very long time, so if you're looking to create a new or more extreme look for yourself I suggest you just play around until you find something you like. I always say "think like a drag queen!" Don't be scared to apply more than you normally would.

Q: WHO DOES YOUR PHOTOGRAPHY / EDITING / GRAPHICS?
A: Most of my photos are self taken either by holding the camera myself, or setting it up on a tripod and using the self timer. The ones that aren't done using that method are taken by my best friend Steph or my boyfriend using my camera and my direction. I do occasionally work with other photographers but I'm extremely picky. I do all of my own editing and graphic design. I've been doing photography for practically my whole life and graphic design/editing for about 13 years now. It's all self-taught.

Q: CAN I DO A DRAWING OF YOU OR USE YOU FOR MY ART PROJECT?
A: Yes, please do! I All I ask is that you let me know if you're using my image for any such project and that you send me a photo/copy of the completed work. I ALSO LOVE FAN ART/SIGNS, and it makes me extremely happy to receive such gifts!

Q: WILL YOU MARRY ME?
A: Depending on how many tacos you offer me, yes. ;D

BEST FRIEND

This section is dedicated to my best friend Steph. We have been friends for 20 years now. Started out terrorizing kindergarten together, and haven't stopped conquering the world since. We have watched each other grow up, been through the good times and the bad times together, and have had some crazy amazing fun times along the way. I know I can always count on her to be there for me whatever the situation, and she can expect the same from me. Definitely the most amazing person I know, I consider her to be my soul sister and I know that we will always be friends until the end and this is something that I very much cherish.
