About Me

It's safe to say that Sam Wartenbee is a bit of a schizophrenic songwriter. In January alone, he put out an Internet-only punk album with Dead F***ing Serious, and his first solo rap CD. While the rhymes on "99 Years" were being pressed and packaged, Wartenbee flew to Arizona to record a solo acoustic EP.
At the helm of this recording was ex-Unknown Horizons guitarist and upcoming studio engineer, Ryan Kocjan. The finishing touches, however, were done by Eric "Mixmaster" Munch in Seattle, WA. This marks his eighth collaboration with Wartenbee since they first joined forces in 2002.
"Days in the Dark" was recorded, mixed, mastered and photographed in just five days. The result is an undeniably honest look at Wartenbee that's more Johnny Cash than John Frusciante. A story told without distorted guitars or defiant words, revealing a side that was only hinted at on his 2006 debut, "Sequel of Me."
