One of my first memories is of me diggin the piano and anything that creates rhythm. and since then, I have done extensive traveling throughout the states, have 9 albums,as well as a handful of apperances on various albums, over 20 songs placed is extreme sport video/dvds(including Mike Metzgur,Tony D Freestyle,and Stone Films NYC) ,countless recordings and shows under my belt, from funk, soul, hip hop, reggae/dancehall, acid jazz, to blues, rock, experimental, and mystical dance music.
I love being part of Humboldt County's Premiere Hip Hop collective. SHC Industries, and Fireplanet Studios have sponsored me in our latest hip hop ventures, which has been in the making here in Humboldt County since the late 1990's, when the all jammin, funk and groove scene was slowly evolving into a notable hip hop scene. Groups like The Humboldt County Freestyle Kings, and Potluck were the 2 original hip hop groups that came together for a duel cd release party that changed the face of the local scene, and it lead to countless sold out shows in and out of town from San Diego, to Tahoe, Reno, Colorado and back, which led both groups to Reggae on the River bookings... the Freestyle Kings in 2001, and Potluck the following year. Elision was introduced at the age of 16 when he joined us at Reggae on the River, which led to my partnerships with Subliminal Sabotage, and Garth Vader. These artists have spawned the now fertile and growing Humboldt Hip Hop movement. I love seeing all the local groups spreading the political, and conscious counter culture message. Since june of 2005, i'm proud to say i've been a major part of 2 records by NUCLEUS,and 1 each for ELISION, NYCA VOL.1, ELIJAH ROCK, plus i've touched records by POTLUCK, NORTH COAST UNDERGROUND, YER DOG, and CHEN-LO.Also the debut album"strategic vision" for MIKASUN, is now available, And let's not forget the records about to be released by MC PROBLEMATIC, and, yet another NUCLEUS record, soul queen TASHA TAYLOR, GARTH VADER, not to mention the BEST OF URBAN STREETBIKE WARRIORS COMPILATION and B SWIZLO's compilation mixtape. and watch out for our songs on many more extreme sport dvds.. now available, a snowboard video by THRILLHEAD in colorado. our latest is a score for a short film by my friend and bad ass movie man VINCENT TAYBORN.
Currently, i spend my time between Los Angeles, the Bay Area, Humboldt County CA, and Boulder CO. L.A. provides studio work with Soul Surfer Records(elijah rock),just one(lil eazy e) Pauly Paul(christina milian,black eyed peas), DL, Ricky Fante(virgin), Fox Sports, Kallisto, and more, and live work with the hot new acts, Tasha Taylor(blues brothers) and Elijah Rock. In Humboldt, I work with a whole family of musicians and lyricists, known, and unknown alike...Nucleus, Garth Vader, Subliminal Sabotage, Potluck, and many more, as we are launching SHC sponsored... Hellatite Records, and in Boulder Co, a studio and production/promotions business called Boulder Sounds. we focus on music for media(t.v.etc...) plus we record various live and studio projects.
