About Me

My People Tribute
RIP my friend Jay D (28/07/06) you will be greatly missed, my Grandad (09/03/06), my Uncle Ramah (18/02/06) & my dear friend Abraham (Sept 2001). You'll always be remembered & never be forgotten. All that I do is for you. There's never a day that goes by when you are not in my thoughts. You are my strength, my determination, my source that enables me to work hard, stay focused & to fulfill my dreams.Music Biography
Born in the East end of London, 25 year old D~Sew is primarily an up coming producer & has found this opportunity to share with you a selection of her creative works simply for her love of music. Her background is of Indian Mauritian & French origin, thus making D~Sew's music somewhat varied, versatile & different. Being able to speak fluent Patwa, some Hindi & merging pop/r&b/hip-hop/hindi music influences has helped her create her own individual sound by incorporating these elements to produce, write poetry/songs & sing in other languages. D~Sew's nature can be found as usually being cool, relaxed & open-minded but this isn't always reflected or found in the environment which she lives or in her surroundings. "There's always something going down in my household or surroundings whether it's a positive or a negative. I produce music as I view it as an outlet, where I simply free my emotions when im going through whatever im feeling at the time". Music as we all know is about freedom of expression and her music is just another form of expression which she hopes some of you will enjoy.
D~Sew (Sew the first 3 letters of her surname) started writing songs & poetry at the age of 14. At just 15, she wrote a poem entitled 'Dreams' which was chosen from her class for publication in 'The Wot Not' book of poetry in 1995. She produced her first instrumental using the calkwalk music software at the age of 16. Her very first major performance was at school with her class, where she composed & played a melodic tune at the Royal Albert Hall conjunction with the Prince's Trust. In 2005, she became a member of the Soul Experience Vocal Academy working alongside singing mentor Patrick Jean-Paul Denis to develop her vocal ability & confidence in singing. Growing up her family was listening to a diverse selection of music genres, including the family's favourite Boney M & Stevie Wonder. In the Late 90's, D~Sew was listening to old skool Garage and Drum & Bass & to even catch Wiley on Rinse fm or Skibadee on Kool fm was much of an inspiration to her. She tried & tested her skills as an mc & could even keep up with the beats of the drum. But, this creative aspect gradually faded & soon came more of an interest in Soul, R&B & Hip Hop. The first ever tape her Dad bought her was Michael Jackson 'Bad'. One of her first ever albums she bought was 'It Was Written' by Nas & 'Illmatic' after that (in no particular order) & has been listening to this conscious rapper ever since. D~Sew has a very diverse listening ear when it comes to music. "I appreciate all types of creativity from music to art, landscape or scenary, photography or fashion. I enjoy learning & talking to people that are both fresh, have a direction & a positive approach towards life. People that can naturally express themselves freely using their creative works is a blessing in itself."
D~Sew is currently working alongside her music mentor G.I (producer for Lost Gardens/U1 Ent) to advance her exisitng knowledge & skills in music production & engineering. D~Sew is now working on her first EP entitled 'Beats, Words & Life' which is currently in progress. Producing music for people will continue to be part of her routine. "There's nothing more satisfying then producing for other artists that really feel your music, understand where your coming from & the direction your headed towards." This is definately true on D~Sew's part, as she feels that this feeling should be a mutual one.
Paulo Coelho author of the book 'The Alchemist' - "Essential wisdom of listening to our heart and, above all, following our dreams."
