2007 has been another good year for Davit Souders, voted one of Urban Tulsa Weekly Magazine’s “Hot 100 Movers & Shakers and people to watch in 2007â€, it also marks year 17 for his company Diabolical Productions LLC. That includes his broadcasting experience with the radio show Technopolis 1990-1994 and eight years featuring local and regional music on Z-104.5 KMYZ The Edge’s Home Groan 1996-2004. Running concurrently with Home Groan, Home Groan Live featured live performances from local artists recorded at Cain’s Ballroom 1998-1999.
Since 2006, Davit hosts This 70’s Show and the local music show, Local Flavors both on KRSC RSU Radio 91.3FM. Also in 2006, he and producer Dustin Parkhurst introduced their internet broadcast/podcast featuring Tulsa area music, Hometown Heroes. In 2007, Souders was named program director and host and Parkhurst producer of the newly re-launched iROK Radio (Independent Radio Oklahoma) featuring music and musicians from throughout Oklahoma.
Souders managed and booked Tulsa’s well known late Eighties club SRO (Standing Room Only) 1986-1990, owned the nationally famous nightclub/music venue IKON 1990-1997, and was the talent/media buyer and production manager for the world famous Cain’s Ballroom 1996-2000. Souders serves as the Associate Director for Billboard Magazine’s World Songwriting Contest, the Entertainment Director on the Oklahoma Scottish Festival Board Of Directors, and previously on the Tulsa Band Coalition Board of Directors. Most recently, Souders has been named the Festival Coordinator for D-Fest, Oklahoma's 2-Day Music Conference and Festival showcase presenting the best independent artists in the country including Oklahoma, regional and national artists.
As a performer and recording artist, Souders garnered four Tulsa World Spot Magazine Award nominations and two wins with his band DDS. Currently, Souders fronts DDS, Rideshy Ritual, and is a member of the local all-star band Team Galaxy.
In May of 2006, Diabolical Productions became the parent company for DiaboliTrade, which develops and executes archival administration for Diabolical Productions. Also in 2006, Souders created Diabolicast to handle all broadcasting productions. After many years on the drawing board, Souders and partner Erv Felker launched their label Hex Appeal Records in late 2006.
