ANOTHER GREAT NIGHT AT THE BACKYARD BAR
Needless to say, The Backyard Bar is rapidly becoming our "home spot" and we thank everyone who came out last Saturday night for another awesome time. Big props to Fist of Rage for finishing out the night in the kick ass manner that they did. Those are some great guys and we hope to jam with them again in the future.
We also would like to welcome Jake Stephens and LA Weiler to our crew. Jake is our new road crew member and LA will be doing photography and videography for us. We can't do what we do without these guys and we want to thank them from the bottom of our hearts for being there for us. Mad props to ya both!!
We have three more dates booked in the fall at the Backyard Bar (see our Events page for more details) and we are currently continuing our writing process in preparation for a new recording to be done in the near future. Stay tuned - good things are ahead.
STORMS PREVENT DOWN FOR FIVE FROM PLAYING AT ROCKLAHOMA 2008
Unfortunately, due to the very bad weather that hit Pryor on Saturday night, and in particular the Rocklahoma site itself, Down For Five was unable to perform in the VIPeeps tent on Saturday night. Many people made extensive efforts to try and make the performance happen, but it simply wasn't possible due to relentless rain and potentially dangerous circumstances. Nevertheless, we thank every single person who worked to make our performance happen, as well as all of the awesome people who were looking forward to attending the performance.
Again, thanks to all who tried so hard to pull things off at Rocklahoma. We can hopefully give it another shot next year.
DOWN FOR FIVE'S FIRST SHOW BACK, HOFF FAMILY BENEFIT SHOW A HUGE SUCCESS
We were absolutely blown away by the turnout and show of support on Friday night, May 16 at The Backyard Bar. It was our first live performance in nearly six months, but more importantly was a very special night to help raise funds for the Hoff family, who recently suffered the tragic loss of Danny Hoff, beloved husband, father, and also a true friend of Down For Five. Please continue to remember the Hoff family and show your support to them by sending donations via paypal to [email protected] to help with the cost of expenses incurred from the tragedy.
From the musical side of things, those of us in DFF getting to see that kind of turnout and response to the new material, as well as the old material, was nothing short of inspiring. There were also so many people that helped us in various ways for this show and to those of you, thank you from the bottom of our hearts for making this first show back so special. We'll never forget it.
We return to the Backyard Bar on Friday, June 20 and we look forward to seeing all of you again soon.

WHAT IS PRESS AND MEDIA SAYING ABOUT DOWN FOR FIVE?
"With more than 150 bands playing the South Park Music Festival...here are a dozen don't-miss bands playing this weekend to help lead the way...Down For Five: This is just-try-looking-away metal. (It's impossible.)"
--Ricardo Baca, Denver Post, who listed Down For Five as the 6th top band to see at the 2006 South Park Music Festival in Fairplay, CO
"Face Rocking Metal, one of the best surprises of Tulsa's DFest!"
--Ricardo Baca, Denver Post
"The night truly kicked into gear with Down For Five, who rocked unapologetically ... Seriously, a snapshot every five seconds with those guys!"
-- Ryan Williams, Book Author, Digital Music For Dummies
"The time has come for Down For Five. Dynamic, melodic, hardworking, sincere -- is there an adjective I've missed? -- this band has understandably forged an incredibly loyal fanbase. The bandmembers' combination of technical skill, original sound and onstage charisma has DFF poised to become a progressive metal music powerhouse. Don't take my word for it. See a show for yourself."
--Jennifer Chancellor, Tulsa World Newspaper
"In an often male-dominated genre of face-searing guitar riffs and solos, Janna Jordan fearlessly -- and seemingly effortlessly -- commands respect and awe from her testosterone-fraught counterparts. And watch out, ladies, because this axemaiden eats skirt-wearing, flippy-haired, self-absorbed, mike-stand throwing, undertuned, overbaked rock-goddess wannabes for breakfast. To put it simply, Jordan wears the pants around here, and don' t you forget it."
