About Me

I edited my profile at Freeweblayouts.net , check out these Myspace Layouts!
..I was born in South Carolina. I have been a native of Philadelphia for 35 years. My first novel is a compelling story of love and betrayal. Married Man is the story of Kendra Davis and Miles Jordan whose paths suddenly cross after nine, long years.
As a veteran poet, I began writing through the encouragement of one of my professors, while attending Temple University in 1996. After forming a literary group, I exposed my literary talent through the open mic venues, afterwards self-publishing my first poetry book, Woman I Know in 1998.I have been featured by Power 99 FM at Sistahs and WPEG 98.9 FM, For Sistahs Only, as well as interviewed on several radio talk shows throughout the Tri-State area. I recently interviewed on the E. Steven Collins Show on December 2, 2005 following a feature article on my second novel, A Woman Scorn'd, written by The Philadelphia Tribune. A WOMAN SCORN'D is a family saga that is sizzling and full of suspense... Featured in the Philadelphia Tribune and The Philadelphia Sun, A Woman Scorn'd centralizes on a topic that is true for so many families, the issue of domestic violence and abuse. Roxane Brissett is a psychotherapist who sets up a counseling service in Manhattan for battered and abused women. When a phone call from a client leads Roxane straight to a murder scene and her relationship with the "foine" as ever stock broker she's gotten herself involved with is interrupted by a crazy and deranged chick named Karma, Roxane's perfect little world suddenly spirals out of control.....Now Available in stores

My Interests

..Reading fiction and non-fiction, learning new languages and traveling to Carribbean islands.

I'd like to meet:

I would say Oprah but...who knows when she'll get with it and give me a call. Lol. Now, Tyler Perry is at the top of my list. I must get with him so he can turn my books into a movie. That's if Forest Whitaker doesn't beat him to it first. Yeah. I dream big! Why not! In the meantime I'd like to meet and have dinner and a nice long conversation with Dr. Maya Angelou who I most admire and aspire to be like and become as well-known as in my writing career. My writing ambition was sparked and inspired by my favorite writer and poet, Dr. Maya Angelou, when I was at a critical point in my life. I thank God for her. I have enjoyed reading her poems as early as the age of nine and truthfully that was the age when I had my first encounter with the novel, "I Know Why The Caged Bird Sings." I have admired this phenomenal woman and her achievements ever since that experience. Reading that novel taught me what it really means to be not just a survivor, but also a strong, black woman.

Music:

Heroes:

God and anyone who is a philanthropist and/or cares about humans and the quality of life, Martin Luther King Jr, Malcolm X and Marcus Garvey, Maya Angelou, W.E.B Dubois, you get where I'm going with this.
