The Reggae Source magazine was created by Kwame Miller and Ahmad Stewart in 2006. Kwame has been a music selector for about 15 years. As a young man growing up in Jamaica, he played with several sound systems. Kwame Also known as Al Capone started his music career with LaBenz which is the same sound that Spragga Benz started his music career with. Kwame then moved on to playing with Lionhouse, a community based sound which gave Fire Links his first break. Kwame arrived in the United States in 1999 and linked up with King Addis. At that point is when Babyface introduced him to George, who was the owner of Megatek. In 1999, he joined Twin Tower sound and was with them until 2001. Kwame then met Alberto, who was the owner for Rolling Thunder sound. When Alberto passed in 2003, Kwame became the owner of Rolling Thunder and has been ever since. Throughout his career, Kwame has worked with such artists as Capleton, Barrington Levy, Bounty Killer, Jr. Demus , Sanchez and New Kidz . He also did several shows with sounds like Stone Love, Massive B, Lover’s Choice and Afrique, just to name a few. American born Ahmad Stewart started his music career at the age of eleven years old. His dad was a D.J., so he was raised with all types of music. Ahmad always had an interest in art. At the age of fifteen he collaborated his art and music skills when he started creating the covers for mix tapes. His love for Caribbean music came when he started playing music at a local club called The Jamaican Inn in Delaware. Ahmad was under aged, so his friend Chicken Heart had to always sneak him into the club. Ahmad was also a radio personality for WVUD 91.3, which was the radio station at the University of Delaware. At the age of sixteen, He started playing with a local sound called Souljie One and he was with them for about thirteen years. Ahmad’s love for art led him to teach himself graphic design by reading books. He also rebuilds computers, as a matter of fact his first computer was taken from someone’s trash, which he refurbished. In 1999 Ahmad along with his brother ‘Charlie Brown’ started a company called Trinity Signs, which is still going strong to this day. Ahmad’s first website was called TristateReggae.com, which lasted about two years. In 2006, Kwame met Ahmad while searching for a graphic designer to design his magazine. At the time Ahmad already had THEREGGAESOURCE.COM website, which he created in July of 2005. After realizing that they both had the same dream, the two men joined as a team. At the same time Ahmad joined the Rolling Thunder sound. They recently had a clash with Mega Vibes and Storm International from Boston. They won both clashes. In December of 2006, THE REGGAE SOURCE magazine was created. The first physical issue of The Reggae Source magazine was printed April 2007. The Reggae Source is vastly becoming one of the industry’s leaders in the Caribbean media market. We are not only music but we are Caribbean culture as a whole and that is why we are called The Reggae Source. With all of this in mind, there is no doubt The Reggae Source magazine can easily be chosen for all of your advertising needs.
