Nothing feels as good as making dreams come true!

About Me

I just recently moved to Halstead in deepest darkest Essex with my Partner Fil from London and trying to get used to the slow pace of life of horses, Bourbour wax coats and Range Rovers drivern of course in Wellington Boots with plenty of mud on them! :o) Oh the leather!!!! Well I wish I could afford a Range Rover with a stable of horses but hey I can dream! Oh well....anyway..................... I run a successful Music/Promotion Management Company with my long time friend and colleague Marcus Skinner dealing in the Jazz/Funk/Urban scenes. We also work within the Netherlands with Funk Management NL, our sister company, and have had alot of sucess in helping bands and artists in getting booked in the UK. We have had the pleasure in working with artists like Gary Husbands 'Force Majeure', to Silkstone from the Netherlands who had a No 2 hit with 'For A Reason' in 2002 signed to RCA Europe as well as helped in setting up and running the World Wide Stanley Clarke Meetup Groups bringing fans and artists who appreciate Stanleys work all under one banner. We also run the Britfunk Showcases for bands in the UK who just love to get out there and play that good ole skool stuff. We have never limited ourselves in just one genre but are always appreciative that everything leads onto something else no matter what it is be it Rock or World Music. I have also helped in forming 'The Face Of Friendship' Charity where as a founding member got together musicians from all over the world to write, record and release several tracks collaborating over the net and releasing them via the FOF website to help raise money for the people in the Asian Basin who suffered so much in the boxing day 2004 Tsunami disater. We managed to raise a lot of money for the DEC Appeal in the UK and Oxfam and other worldwide aide charities and one thing that I am very very proud of as we helped so many suffering people in a desperate situation. See, musicians are useful... :o) I personally also manage several bands and love every minute of it and want to meet more artists and like minded people who not only share the same passions as myself but who also are prepared to give those who are willing to work hard and who work most of the time in grubby little clubs and pubs to make a living , a chance on the world stage by giving them a step up to blossom and show of their abilities with the help of those more fortunate so major artists who are prepared to teach and reach out via support slots and music based clinics. I would like to open a academy for new artists to flourish in their own right based in the UK and to take them to another level of music and what its all really about... the artistic and beautiful side of it and not the financial one and what can be known as the least promising side of music.Me..well... I am easy going, can be stroppie (sometimes) a laugh, and love gigs and anything live and not pretenious._________________________________________________ ______________________ ____________________________________________________________ ___________This page is for all my friends!!! As a tribute to our dear brother and founder member Paul “Tubbs” Williams, and thanks to our former manager Nigel Conway, I joyfully share with you these rare photos of Incognito / The Warriors in the studio and on tour in Holland in 1982. This was the band’s first tour to promote Jazz Funk and the unofficial Incognito second album The Warriors “Behind the mask”. The look on Paul’s face as he digs into his bass gives you some idea of the intensity of his playing. I will do all in my power to see if we can get that Warriors album re-released as an Incognito album on CD. The album was originally released in the UK in 1982 on Ensign Records. Catalogue No: ENVY6001 on LP only. The titles on the album include: Hot Apple, The Warrior, Midnight Oil, Bustin’ Loose, Warrior’s Dream, Destination, Je Ne Sais Quoi, Drive, Unsung Heroes.
The tour line up included: Paul “Tubbs” Williams on Bass and Vocals Peter Hinds ..boards Mattie Collins on Piano Geoff Dunn on Drums Ronnie Johnson on Lead Guitar Chris Hunter on Saxophones Guy Barker on Trumpet and Flugel Horn Nigel Conway (Manager) Bob Mazzer (Photographer) Stephan Harper (Driver / Crew) Steven Torenzio (Crew) And myself (Bluey) on Rhythm Guitar and Vocals

It is fitting that the tour photos were taken in Holland… The place where Paul finally found peace and love and raised a family, the place he called home, his final destination, his resting place.

Peace

My Interests

What else but MUSIC! I enjoy organising and putting together my own events but most of my times spent at the PC and the phone as well as the open road putting together other peoples shows and I love it!,p. ..

I'd like to meet:

I would love to meet people who are easy going, not pompous or stuck up, who love the live gig scene, and love being in the thick end of it all. People who just love having a laugh is the aim I think and who like me, want to help those who try so hard to make it in their lives and who want to show the world what they can do. I definatly want to meet people who are like minded and are in the music industry and who want to network and collaborate on projects musical or buisness orientated.I am easy going and hope I can make some connections to make dreams happen.

Music:

Level 42 and Mark King were areal passion and always were from a young age! YCB are special to me as their the ones who set me to working in the Music Industry, I also love artists like Stanley Clarke, Incognito, The Brand New Heavies, Four Play, Stevie Wonder, Jean Carn, Maze and Frankie Beverly, Lonnie Liston Smith, Casiopea, Marcus Miller and the list goes on and on because these are the people who you can really learn from...especially Stan The Man for his sheer passion in getting young kids doing what they want through listening and giving them a chance through his Scholarship Foundation..Way to Go Stanley!I just love anything thats funky and that you can move to and thats written without prentence by real musicians! As Stan said once, 'You remember when you were a kid hanging out on the street corner trying to make a buck or two and a peanut butter sandwich! You remember that!' On the back of that saying, I always have tried to help artists to shine and show of their potential.

Hi friends. I just wanted to say in my first ever blog entry that I can't beleive this new revolution called My Space. Being in the music industry isn't easy most of the time but isn't it great to see...
