...But is it art?

About Me

Why hello.
No...seriously. Hello
So I have been frolicking in the vocal realms, as if they were sunny days, jumping over little melodies like turnstiles and cowpats, for about six years. About two thirds of the way through that time I think I accidentally did the terrible thing and became a singer (although I occasionally lapse).
Am vocalist for the lovely lovely band, Knife In The Emerald Apple (www.myspace.com/knifeintheemeraldapple) (what a plug!) but this site is purely a place to put solo musings and musicky things.
I like melodies and strange noises and tend to chuck around an even handful of both.
ALL music is written by me, ALL vocals are performed by me, ALL production is by me, ALL lyrics are babbled from the words inside.
I used to like hardcore experimentation with lots of strange shouty noises and screams, nowadays I mostly prefer undertaking more technically challenging singing that batters the eardrums maybe a little less. However, any requests for the more raw, "alternative," stuff will be honoured if you drop me a line, besides...it's therapeutic too.
I really love making music (no duh) and hope this comes through in the finished product.
Music aside, I really really like curry. I also like travelling through different countries, compassion, communicating between language barriers, loving, clean laundry, poetry, freshly cut grass, ironic humour, socialism, politics, literature, Asian Cinema, non-asian cinema, Asian cooking, art in all of its marvellous forms, finding fivers in the pocket that I had forgotten about, gyming it, blackjacks, naag champa, sea sides, Chris Cornell, fine days and fine people. I also like wearing vests.
....I also enjoy vibrant shirts
...Oh and I also enjoy my beard...not so much for how it looks you must understand...more for how it feels..
