Watching charismatic frontman Kennedy work a crowd
is like watching the General Lee take off on another of those crazy
aerial stunts. He always lands shiny side up and burnin' rubber for all
he's worth. Thanks to him, and to the chooglin' garage twang supplied by
Niewoehner & Keale, the energy level at Earl shows is always
high.

What I especially like about Earl is their
tendency to fuel roots music with a searing blast of nuclear white
heat... Kennedy ...with that rustic howl... is all frantic emotional
fire and drama. On stage I couldn't take my eyes off of him.
- Windy City Times
"Long, Long Time", the first track on Earl's
Used, jumps out like an alt-country genie who's sick of being cooped
up in a damn bottle. "The Game" reminded me of early Springsteen when he
was just a New Jersey kid knocking 'em dead at The Stone Pony. "Abigail"
is another winner that proves you can never go wrong writing about girls
and naming songs after one of them. The St. Louis-based Earl plays urban
rock with a rural wallop. Or is rural rock with an urban wallop? Either
description makes sense.

Earl's music is something both Johnny Cash and
Johnny Rotten can be proud of.
