About Me

You may well know most of the guys in the band who as freelance musicians continue to excel. Winston Blissett (bass): diverse credits include 'Jeff Lorber', Massive Attack (current world tour), 'Sting' (TV) and 'Kylie Minogue'. Derek Nash (sax) currently features in the Jools Holland Big Band and has also just arrived back from Denver and shows with 'Dave Grusin and 'Russ Ferrante of The Yellowjackets Derek is of course also the creative force behind UK Jazz giants 'Sax Appeal'. Tim Cansfield (guitar): live and studio credits include countless live shows with 'The Bee gees', plus touring and recording with 'Ray Charles', 'Steve Winwood' and Annie Lennox. Arden Hart (keys): Recent collaborations with George Clinton and Don Blackman. Finally, Darby Todd, the UK's top young drummer who gives the band their unique edge. Credits: live shows with 'Gary Moore', 'Sax Appeal' and Disney's London Musical 'The Lion King'.'PTB' s' debut album, 'It ain't dinner jazz' is an exceptional album offering undeniable chemistry. The music classifies as jazz/groove set in a commercial songs format yet live 'PTB' still cannot avoid getting 'seriously funky'. Protect The Beats first record, "it ain't dinner jazz" can be purchased at www.protectthebeat.com
