Mike Parlett

Gifted saxophonist, flautist, percussionist, composer and occasional vocalist AND Radio Presenter Michael J Parlett has been a mainstay of the UKs jazz and gospel circuits for over fifteen years.'I took up the saxophone after listening to my heroes David Sanborn and Grover Washington jr. I used to go and 'hang out' at jam sessions and played with some amazing musicians there and in the Church where I received most of my training together with playing alongside other more established singers and musicians at concerts and functions.' Michael subsequently went on to gain a BMus music degree at University of London Goldsmiths College and thereafter a PGCE post graduate teaching Certificate at University of Middlesex and was nominated for the distinctive Arts Council Foundation award.He has since performed and recorded with many top artists around the world released his solo album project and continues to work as a session musician and producer working from his own studio in London and performing at top venues such as Ronnie Scott's Jazz club, Jazz Café, café Royal and many other establishments both in the UK and internationally. Michael also lives in Los Angeles California where he has his recording studio and is currently working alongside Norman Brown, Grammy award winning guitarist, jazz fusion maestro Jeff Lorber and singing legend Peabo Bryson along with Ike Turner and the Kings of Rhythm.Michael is a natural entertainer and entrepreneur who has developed a distinctive style and sound winning him recognition throughout the music fraternity.Michael is currently presenting his own radio show on SOLAR RADIO.
