Young Session Drummer
I'm was one of the drummers with the NATIONAL YOUTH ROCK ORCHESTRA before it collapsed, NYRO.I'm based in Mid Wales and have been playing drums for around 5 -6 years. I also used to play with the South Powys Youth Jazz Band. I really got interested in drums after watching the first Young Drummer of the year competition. I saw and met Bradley Webb (a great drummer with Ross Copperman and Blueman Group) who gave me lots of encouragement and I started taking drums seriously from there on. I've been to watch all the compeitions so far and each year the standard is raised.
In 2007 & 2008 i got in to the top 40 of young drummer of the year! I currently have the depping slot for the Midlands Youth Jazz Orchestra and National Youth Jazz Orchestra of Wales. I have also been down to practice with the NAtional Youth Jazz Orchestra in London. I've been really lucky and met lots of drummers so far, check my pics page, but i have had some great lessons / ideas & tips from people like Brad, Alex Bridge, Dewi Young, all the crew at Swansea jazzland, Ian Thomas, Andy Edwards, Darby Todd, Janette Williams & Dave Hassell to name a few and hope to be a pro player one day. I also got a chance to play with Owen Money at Pembrokeshire show in 2005( thanx to Ryan, Pablo, Owen & the rest of the band) on the BBC RADIO WALES stagep>Check out my profile for my progress and updates so far.
