CLEARFIELD

James and Jason formed Clearfield in early 2004.Having soon written enough material for an album they decided to record and release 'The Breaking Silence' on CD, playing nearly all of the instruments themselves. The album was recorded at (Roxy Music's) Phil Manzanera's Gallery Studios in London with engineer Jamie Johnson who had previously worked with Paul Weller, Robert Wyatt and Razorlight. After several shows as a duo, James & Jason decided to look for a third member to play bass. One night after a show in Balham, London, James was told backstage by the manager of another act that Beth Symmons, a session bassist from north London may be looking to join a band. The following week the trio met up and Beth became an official Clearfield member.
