Hermann Schwartz was born in 1954, and joined METAL URBAIN in early 1977, six months after their first gig, replacing, with his brother Pat Lger, then guitarist Rikky Darling.
Since then, Hermann as been identified as one of France greatest guitar heroes, with a sound so distinctive you will recognise it instantly after hearing it once. His secret he pretty much simple : he never uses a pick. It's all in the fingers !
Hermann also was guitarist for Doctor Mix & The Remix, the legendary short lived rock'n'roll band Desperados, and hard hitting rockabilly band Wolfgang.
His no compromise attitude, that he sticked to for the last 30 years, as made him one of France's most respected guitar player. As soon as he steps on stage, people in the audience screams his name, which might tell you the degree of popularity he has achieved.
The two tracks above are unmastered demo recordings, for an upcoming solo single, to be issued soon on Seventeen Records, and were produced by Eric Debris (Metal Urbain).
His legendary session with Patti Smith, recorded in Paris in 1976, remains unreleased to this day.
