Mass Spectrometer is the recording and performance project of New Zealanders Ilmars Gravis who lives in Melbourne and Michael Canning who is based in West Yorkshire. They have collaborated for many years in different projects and 'Music for engines in overdrive' is their first album released on Ghostjogger Records. It features a contribution from Australian journalist and cultural critic John Pilger on the track "Good Governance". Mfeio is dedicated to the memories of Michael J. Hex and Giovanni Intra who were part of the same generation of artists that emerged from New Zealand in the early 90's. 'Lab Coat Dude' from Mfeio is also available on the Malicious Damage compilation 'The Clock machine turns you on'.
