Beautiful Life Records was founded in January 2005 in that musically amazing city Newcastle. There's so much wonderful music out there that needs to be released. This label is here to promote anything and anyone passionate about the music. We currently have two bands, and intend to increase this by one band a year to begin with. Belligerent Declaration have now released their debut album, and Myth of Unity will be releasing something with us in 2007. Sadly Garland Green split up before releasing their album with us, but we've put information about them here because they're worth remembering.
If you'd like to put on Belligerent Declaration and/or Myth of Unity anywhere in the country please get in touch.

GARLAND GREEN
Belligerent Declaration are a pollitically infused hardcore punk rock band from Scarborough, They have played with bands such as Capdown, Endstand, Assert and The Mingers. They're debut album was released through Beautiful Life Records in 2005.
Here are some of the reviews Belligerent Declaration's debut albums have recieved....
Zero Tolerance:
"I love it when a band does a DIY release, especially when the band has something worth saying and Belligerent Declaration pull no punches in saying it. BD have made a nine-headed hardcore beast, pulling influences from all types of music and tying it together with political and passionate intensity. I wish more bands were willing to throw genres out of the window and just be happy to play and say whatever they feel like without having to feel they must fit into a particular scene.
4/5"
Last Hours:
"This is a refreshing British metalcore record amidst a huge consignment of conveyer belt U.S. counterparts - Like Five Knuckle playing their favorate Napalm Death-tinged Capdown licks come Nogxact dwelling Cradle of Filth at an earily trudging pace, Belligerent Declaration drag the apathetic and the solipsists through an epic political minefield, and at only five pounds for the sound and some smart artwork, I'm starting to wish I wasn't the only one with a promo cdr in a cornflake box sleve."
Profane Existance
"This CD is a real mixed bag of stuff. It contains 12 tracks of various vocal/musical styles, from full on HardCore stuff, a bit of metal, and then back to some raging PunkFuckingRock! There are 2 spoken word tracks included as well that make you stop and think, they impressed me, youll have to listen to them and judge yourself. The first three words of their bio pretty much says it all. HardCore With A Difference. Yep that definitely says it all. Well worth checking out."
Bald Cactus
"This was a surprise cos although I love watching their intense live performances I didnt expect it to translate too well on CD. Well blow me down if this isnt a little corker. Not held back by any pigeon holes or musical boundaries, this is a pretty varied project musically, though fear not, its mostly good old school hardcore and a bit of RAMBO style moshtrocity thrown in. Lyrics deal with sexual harassment of women, child abuse, the war in Iraq and other important issues. And when you hear Jamess spoken words track about Iraq and explaining what the song Belligerent Declaration means, you know they are not fly by night punks jumping on the politics band wagon., they really mean it. (It sends shivers down the spine!). Theres a frightening moment when the vocals briefly go back to the days of BOLT THROWER and all that shit, but thankfully it doesnt last long and to cap off this fine CD theres a CRIPPLE BASTARDS cover. Conclusion: Passion and intensity bleed from this and you can jump around like a lunatic to it too! 8/10"
Suspect Device
"If ever a band has named itself correctly its this band. I really enjoyed playing this CD and taking on board their very forthright views on war and pro life groups etc. Musically I enjoyed the CD but I have a feeling they may pass me by a bit live! The stand out track for me on this 12 track CD is Pro Life Hypocrisy. All the lyrics are supplied along with explanations for why they were written; not a new idea but one I like. Look out for this band as they are one of those bands where the ideas and the lyrics are probably more important than the music"

"Scarborough, Who'd a thought this east coast seaside town would have a burgeoning Hardcore scene? By all accounts though, they've got quite a bit going on over there and BELLIGERENT DECLARATION are at the forefront of it all. Where on earth do I start to describe this CD though? You certainly get value for money, as there are so many different styles, ideas and sounds going on in here. I left the room to make a coffee and came back thinking somebody had changed the CD. And I'm sat on my own in here today. At the core of this band is a pretty solid, if a little basic, IMBALANCE style hardcore band. The vocals are strongest on the songs that play it straight down the line - fast, positive Hardcore. Elsewhere, we go all round the houses - slow, brooding heavy bits, stomping metallic bits, jangly and almost ambient bits ... and the singing is no different. Screams, shouts, spoken and sang. The singing bits don't quite sit right at times and sound as if they over reach at times, but there is so much going on, when James goes in to falsetto or hip hop mode, it doesn't really surprise you. And it should really if you think about it. Lyrically they are more conventional in terms of Hardcore addressing the lack of girls in bands, anti war sentiment, child abuse and pro life hypocrisy. I really am at a loss to describe this band as there is literally so much packed in to here with sincerity and innovation, it's just too much at times."

Myth of Unity is best described as a Rock Electro Band that will change the way you think about music. They strive to be different from anything else you have ever heard and do a damn good job of doing so.
GARLAND GREENFor those of you interested in the soul/funk/metal/electronica/ska band from Blackpool, we're sad to say they broke up before we released an album together. It's very sad, but go check out their myspace and listen to their tunes. All the members of the band will go on to do new and exciting things we're sure. James is now part of Myth of Unity whilst Jemma has gone on to front Swallow .
