Stevie Wonder, Oprah, and Susan L. Taylor, Queen Latifah (came close once), Patti Labelle, Diana Ross, Tina Turner, Halle Berry, Diana Ross, Janet Jackson and a few others...
Classic jazz & r&b are my favs. Hip Hop & Rap is cool, so is reggae, and I can even dig samba, bossanova, classical, and alternative, rock, and even a little pop once in awhile. The artists who have never let me down are: Stevie Wonder, Jill Scott, Sade, Luther, Donnie Hathaway, Roberta Flack, Aaliyah, MJ anyday of the week. Added to my top favs are ole' school Ohio Players and the Isley Brothers, Rick James, Chaka, the Brazillian Girls, Tina Marie, Astrud Gilberto & Antonio Jobim (ha!), Gwen Stefani, Maroon 5, Counting Crows, Michael McDonald, The Fray, Pink, and Norah Jones
Once again.. I like to cry when necessary, especially on good movies so I'll keep my list short. Fav of all time is The Neverending Story. At the top of the list: The Color Purple, Forrest Gump, Shawshank Redemption, Mo' Betta Blues, Malcom X, The Women of Brewster Place, and Sparkle. Recently, I've fallen in love with Crash, Ray, 21 Grams, The Skeleton Key, and Love Actually.
I never pass up a good reality show.... love ANTM, Fear Factor re-runs, Project Runway, Top Chef, American Idol... but I am also a Big sports fan (49ers), I'll watch basketball, football, boxing, and UFC games.
My mom did her thing and is my biggest hero because she made it all on her own as a single mother... and is still working her ass off! She is my number one hero. I also have much respect for women like Patti Labelle, Oprah, Susan Taylor, Tyra, Queen Latifah, Halle Berry, Tina Turner... These women have mastered the art of their crafts, began legacies and extraordinary fame, yet each one has had to struggle along the way. They have earned every ounce of my respect & admiration.
