Luke and I will be having our first child this year. I'm officially 3 months along. I did not have good pictures. I flew to Arizona to do a test shoot because I knew the fashion editor of BBW Magazine would be there. I promised myself that if I did not make an impression on her I would give up my dream of modeling. The first person who gave me my first big break was Betty Johnson and that was MANY years ago. After meeting her at the test shoot - she flew me back several months later for a layout in the magazine. To this day she remains one of my very best friends. Thanks to her and her Esteem Team I went on to appear on Television shows, runway and other magazines....My "claim to fame" came when in 2005 I wrote to ALLURE Magazine and let them know how I felt about their series on women who thought they were fat and needed to lose weight. I was not mad they wanted to lose weight - I was upset that they portrayed them as homely and unhappy fat women before they lost the weight and the "AFTER" pictures portrayed them as LIVIN La VIDA LOCA!! So I called my two very good friends (plus models) Mia Amber Davis and Lissa Essling and we shot the AFTER pictures at our current size. The magazine loved it and published the letter. A few months later FIGURE and Allure Magazine interviewed me about the experience and about what it was that made me try to contact a National Magazine...One of the greatest experiences was working as a LIVE model for designer Richard Metzger when he was trying out for the Bravo TV Reality show Project Runway... Although he was not chosen for the show - his belief that plus size women want to look good and deserve a bigger place in the fashion world inspired me.October 2006 brings Latina Magazine -Profile Edited by MPS MySpace Editor 2.0August 2007 Issue of All You MagazineOn December 20, 2006 my life was changed forever when I lost my daddy. My sisters and I were fortunate to be with him until he went home with the Lord. We are a very close family and all of us, including his sisters took turns at the hospital to make sure he was never alone as he fought to stay alive for 4 months at NY Hospital. My daddy was so strong and brave but in the end it was his time to go, he had been thru too much already. My heart aches all the time and life is not ever going to be the same - I miss him every second of every day. I love you daddy!
