About Me

Rites of Spring (ROS) is a non-profit organization whose mission is to increase awareness of, and raise much needed funds for organizations assisting those living with HIV and AIDS in our community. ROS has donated nearly $350,000 to Birmingham Aids Outreach (BAO), the University of Alabama at Birminghams (UAB) 1917 Dental Clinic, and other non-profit service organizations.It is also the goal of Rites of Spring to build and foster a strong sense of Community. Rites of Spring fundraising is centered on bringing the Birmingham Gay Community together with other Communities at social functions throughout the year. These events include Benefit Parties, A Silent Auction, and a Sunday Brunch.Every spring for the past 13 years ROS has hosted its Spring Party at the Historic Sloss Furnace in Downtown Birmingham. This open air venue is under the old iron pouring shed at Sloss Furnace and provides a terrific atmosphere for dancing into the night to nationally known DJs and other entertainment.DUE TO OPEN BAR, ADMITTANCE TO PERSONS 21 YEARS OF AGE AND OLDER.
